Basically, want to fit videos into the white portion and then use "blend" and "multiply". but everytime I try this, the video ends up pixelated, doesn't cover the portion I'd like, or the film effect gets very dark in relation to the video.

    Track matte.
Edit: Is the noise/grain in the overlay, or on a separate FX layer? If you have them separated you have better control of the blend (and whatever effect and amount you want on the grain/noise/whatever).

It did not work... at all. I have them separated yes, but the video didn't change, I have a video im trying to "fit" into the white portion while keeping the film effect you see at the top and bottom left.

try setting the res of the preview to full instead of 1/4, it will give a closer image as to what the end result will be.

Why are you trying to do it that way? Does the surrounding video move or is all of that static? if it is static then just drag your clip you want in the WHITE on TOP of the other video track. And move/resize accordingly. Problem solved

The border layer needs to be above the other video, then use the Multiply Blend Mode on the border layer (currently on Normal).
