By ghost notes i don't mean the velocity of the note, but those faded out notes from other channels or track that show up in the midi editor, like in FL Studio. Like here

I tried Reaper Mania vids and other few tips online. But with no luck.
    I am using Reaper v 6.51,
    Thanks in advance.

    I got you, check this:

It's rather simple, you just "close" and "open" the eye icon next to the track you want to visualize and it appears as "ghost notes"

@justsomerandomdude To make this part visible click on Contents menue in the editor and select Track List.

In this example Bass is the track, Bass 1 and Bass 2 are the parts:

Thank you @Djord Emer and @No Avenger, yes i enabled Track list, and also tried click that eye, but somehow it doesn't do anything, except selecting the track, and lock icon seems to be locked unlike yours

Select items press 'F2' (Media Item Properties) -> uncheck Lock.

EDIT: snapshot from manual (User Guide 650, page 123):

IDDQD Sound has some great tutorials on setting up the MIDI editor - better than Kenny for this workflow aspect by far.

I find Feed The Cat's MIdi Editor Magic scripts indispensable for REAPER MIDI. If you use MEMagic as the default action for left clicking on a MIDI item in the Arrange view, instead of the normal 'open in MIDI editor', then it'll open up zoomed to the whole item. Map the default single click to something like 'horizontally zoom to 4 measures and zoom vertically to the visible notes' and you can click around in the arrange view and the MIDI editor will follow along in sync.

This allows a nice workflow for what you're after as you can select multiple MIDI items in the arrange view and they'll all open up in the editor. Then you can just use the keyboard shortcuts for 'activate next/previous midi item' to switch between them in the midi editor (I think that's Alt-N and Alt-Shift-N but I've mapped mine to < and > as it gets a lot of use.)

You should definitely go through the MIDI editor preference page though and watch some IDDQD videos, as there are some really bad defaults in REAPER. Best MIDI editor once it's set up right, one of the worst OOTB. Here are mine, which work well with the MEMagic script I mentioned. The 'Opacity for notes in secondary media' setting will determine how transparent or solid your ghost notes will appear.

Also, searching for ghost notes you won't find much useful information about this because that's a term already in use, for the technique of having muted midi notes as sidechain triggers.

BTW I was using the 'Single Track Edit' cycle action described in this post, and so the settings screenshot I just posted should be taken with a pinch of salt as the action changes settings on the fly,

Action and bunch of other stuff I have was set up based on this blog post, very useful:
    https://seventhsam.com/blog/blog/how-to-set-up-reaper-s-midi-editor-for-better-workflow

Oh and as an alternative to the track list you can use the media lanes at the bottom, which also have lock and visibility toggles:

ALSO - shift-double clicking on a 'ghost note' switches you to that item for editing. Not sure if this is default or if I changed it to do so.

Hi. I had the same issue and needed to change the piano roll time base from 'Source beats' to 'Project beats'.
It's in the piano roll under the View menu..Piano roll timebase.

TBH, I didn't even have the piano roll timebase on my plate anymore - but it has some very interesting features.

Regarding the Best Answer, I'll show you...
