    Hey everyone,

I would like to record audio streams from internet radio sites like spotify, last.fm etc.
and thus need a program to record and convert these streams into mp3.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance! ;)

Press record in your audio editor or daw of choice

This is the ''Software - Mobile' section; which mobile device are you asking for?

You may want to have a look at Jack if you're on Windows.

If you're on Mac I can recommend Soundflower to route audio to a daw and record it, or the easy to use Audio Hijack Pro.

Hope this helps, and hope you're not talking about mobile and just chosen wrong section to post this,
cause if you're actually talking about recording audio streams on mobile devices I don't know anything at all.

Audacity can record what ever is currently playing on your computer as well (and its free). http://audacity.sourceforge.net

Audacity is best. It actually syncs the start of the record mode. You start audacity recording but it waits for the player to actually begin before it begins recording, so it syncs the recorder with the playback. It's immediately in the editor afterwards as well.

When recording through DAW or Audacity, it's not bit-accurate. You may want to reduce recompression or completely leave it out.
Streamripper plugin for Winamp is the solution (I believe there's one on mobile platform too), avoids recompression through another MP3 layer. *yes*

I've used Rogue Amoeba's AudioHijack Pro for years. Haven't updated in a while, but the version I've got allows for endless amount of audio quality options.

    Here's a link: https://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijackpro/

I've done it on win 7 and win 8. Haven't tried it on XP but you have that covered. I think that means it works on all. I used it today on win 8.

I tried again in W7 but nothing.
I use cubase with ASIO4all but the stereo output of my soundcard(Soundmax HD)is active but not connected. It seems is occupied by the radio player.I my fellow computerguy and he says it's only done in XP.Could you tell me what ASIO and what soundcard you use?External maybe.Mine is the internal card.
