Move your STEAM folder to desired location, make a sortcut of that STEAM folder and put it in a previous location.
    Simple
You have tutorial, with pictures, how to do that on spectrasonic page

But if you clean install, installer will ask you where do you want to install STEAM folder, choose lodation on another disk and omnisphere will now where to look

Ensure there are no power blackouts in your area/you have enough battery remaining in your laptop as it is going to be a big transfer. I recommend copy-paste-delete the previous after that rather than cut paste

I have successfully copied and re-used the spectrasonics folder which contains my steam folder and cracked dll.'s to a backup drive for use in a new build. Installed the latest omnisphere plugin in the default vst location. Copied the data back to the ProgramData folder including patched dll.s from original setup. Then I authorize the plugin in the vst location (DAW) and use the refresh button in Omnisphere and everything worked as before. Since the dll files (keyscape, omnisphere) are previously cracked (in ProgramsData directory) from the original install they are already patched and keyscape worked as well.

The key to success is to install latest version of Omnisphere plug-in (in my case NOT the steam folder) to configure it's settings. Then Omni is just looking for it's data. In my case only had to patch the newly installed dll in my DAW. Everything worked, Saves tons of time. Just make sure your data folders are completely copied into the right place before you refresh instrument browser.

Have used this same process for data folders of Sampletank v.4 (including Syntronik) and Toontrack EZ (Superior) Drums data. Also used this process for waves instrument data folder as well. I had a couple of the Toontrack drum kits not show up or complain about update and was fixed by moving offending drum directory up a level removing the Toontrack original directory structure. Hopes this helps!

Most DAW programs with large libraries these days will ask for the location of the library folder if you move it.
Some do not, but even small factory synth libraries can become large when you add a bunch of wavetables and preset packs.
(And some well-known installers with large preset packs that don't give an option for installing another place- hahha )

If they don't ask for the location, you can use Symlinking.
It can be done manually, but i love having this program: https://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/linkshellextension.html
It has a option to add/remove from the right-click context menu in Windows, which is handy when you use it a lot... and then don't need it for a while (a feature ALL programs that add context items should be lawfully required to have!)

It is a simple 1) move folder
    2) Right-click on folder and choose "Pick Link Source"
    3) Right-click where the folder USED to be and choose "Drop as...
    4) Choose the type of link you want to make (I use "Symbolic Link" for almost everything)

Windows acts as if the folder is still there for most purposes.
My backup program (Easus Todo) detects symlinks and the option to follow and included that data in the backup is 'unchecked' by default.
Very good for backing up the OS drive without all the library stuff.
I have customized my libraries with add-on packs and renaming Preset folder, etc, so I do NOT want to have any of that changed.
If doing a fresh install of a program, I temporarily rename the that programs library folder on my Daw Library drive, (usually just adding a " .x" at the end) so the install will not touch it.
Usually it is only the factory content being installed, but i will let it install to whatever location that is default or in the registry and then manually move that into my library.
Then rename its Daw Library folder back to what I had.
I have forgotten to do that a few times and nothing was messed up, but with the installers I use often being "unofficial" it is not a bad measure.

Other things, like the programs themselves and various other data (sometimes in "Program Data" folder) I leave on the OS drive so that if I restore a backup it is consistent with the registry.
If I find that a program puts the library in there with other stuff, I just move and symlink the large folder (usually the samples).
I think with Cakewalk's Rapture Pro and Dimension Pro I moved all the samples into one folder and named it "Cake.Samples.symlinked".
I did that to remind myself that the programs on my OS drive were looking at that folder and would remind me to drop a couple new symlinks if I moved it. When i dropped the Symlinks I just renamed the Symlinks to "Samples" (because that is what the program is looking for).

The Symlinks will show in color (like some others you see Windows using the same way) and you can choose a color if you like.
These days it seems most programs are allowing you "locate" or add your own folders easily but a few don't.

    Greetings,

Does this apply to having Omni installed on the root drive "C" and having the library on another larger drive?
In the process of building a new rig and will have storage now for "everything" under the sun.

Yes, but I wonder why you would install on the root of "C"?
I have my own folder on another drive for "Portable" versions, but those have all their data in their own folders.
I once DID make a different folder I named "Daw Progs" to install only DAW programs, but realized it was a huge mistake.
Better to leave it default for compatibility.
I even became annoyed at some "unofficial" installers that changed the paths from the official releases.
I could forgive myself more easily ... because I know i am a noob! :wow: But they should know better!
So, why do you want to install to root of "C" ?
Oh, my mistake... I see you did not say "root OF drive "C".
You just said "root drive 'C'".
Using the word "root" gave me that impression, so I still do wonder if you mean changing the default install path.

    Hi,

Great post ! Just what I was looking for in order to get up and running on my new Windows 10 Pro 64 bit PC  ...But as I haven't had much practice installing Omnisphere so far there are a few things I'm struggling to understand here ... Namely :

    1) When you mention "install latest version of Omnisphere plugin to configure its settings ..." does that refer to the latest (cracked) software update ?

I'm in the process of copying my Steam folder (which contains all Omnisphere libraries + Keyscape and Trillian) from my old Windows 8.1 laptop to this new PC as I type. This is version 2.6.0c ... So my understanding is that afterwards I should install, say, the v2.6.1e (5-6-2019) update and at some point I should be prompted to specify where that Steam folder now resides on my new system, right ?

    2) On my old setup I already had my Steam folder on a separate drive, so there's a shortcut pointing to that exact location within c:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics along with the 32bit and 64 bit plugin dll's, the Omnipshere app and a couple of dat files. That's it ... So my understanding is that these files need to be copied to c:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics on the new PC (as well as to my default plugins folder for the dll's), right ? But would this be before or after completing step 1 ? And for that matter, is it even necessary to run an update on the new system if I'm happy with my current version (2.6.0c) ?

Sorry if all or any of the above sounds stupid ... I'm still a learner :dunno:

    Cheers !

    1) I think you have to have the program installed to run any updates. I think the entries in the registry are minimal, but a quick looks shows entries in HKEY_Classes_Root with basic paths.
    - I always just install from the original 2.0.3d disks and then the latest updates.

    - I already have my Steam folder so i abort when the 2.0.3d installer asks for Steam disks.
    - Then I run the latest "Software" update.
    - When I then run the latest "Patch Library" & "Soundsource" update installers I do get a notice because I have not run the program yet and it does not know the path to the Steam folder. No problem really.
-- For each of those updates it gives the message:
"Installation Attributes file not found. Contact Spectrasonics customer support"
-- so i click "OK" (the only option) and then it says,
"Unable to find the STEAM folder. Please locate the actual STEAM on your disk (not the shortcut) and select it in the next window."
-- I browse and select the Steam folder and it installs the updates fine.

    2) If you install the newest version you have, of course it will place those things in the "ProgramData\Spectrasonics" folder, but if installing you'd need to authorize it (patching the .dll files & pasting the auth code). I believe those are the Audioxx.dat files, so maybe copying them over would authorize it.
    - I never tried just copying over and running instead of installing.
    - My Steam folder has always been on another drive and it just prompts for location no matter where I move it.
    - I would still run the latest updates. I never had a problem doing that. (The latest I have are: Patch Library-2.6.1c, Soundsource-2.6.1c, & Software-2.6.2c)

It seems I have to rerun the keygen when Windows does a major update but that is the only issue I have encountered.

Thanks Reg Perrin regarding my setup. Here, copy first, then install and patch.

1 copy all data files to where they are going to live, mine is programdata\spectrasonics\steam. It can go anywhere. My data files included the cracked omni and keyscape dll, exe's and .DAT files in that programdata\spectrasonics\plugins. Normally no need to crack. KG will complain failure to patch if it is already cracked. Keyscape standalone here need patching. However you need to patch Omni .dll in it's VST location using step 2.

2 Install the Omni version you want (I am using v.2.6.0e), this tells system Omni is installed. you should have choice to locate steam folder. close setup, open Omni. It will need patching using old R2R keygen on Omni .dll first in your VST folder! When Omni is patched, open it and find refresh button (circle with arrow) to finalize locating all the data files in steam location.

Let me know if that worked!

I am trying to update Keyscape to the latest updates for Patches and Soundsource. I have the patched DLLs already in place so it is authorized already. But when I run the updates mentioned I get this error: ""Installation Attributes file not found. Contact Spectrasonics customer support". How do I get around this. There is an Installation Attributes.dat file in both the update directories but I still get the error. What am I missing?

You maybe got a too old version to run this update, you may need to install a newer version

As Kuuhaku suggested, maybe you need a software update.
If you already got Pirate's fixed DLL and copied into directories,OK .
If not, it is now on there.
What happens when you run Keyscape?
(Mine asked for authorization, so I ran Keygen and all went well).
    Have you run it?

I have the fixed DLL and authorization was successful. Keyscape runs great just not updated. I get the Installation Attributes error on the Soundsource and Patches updates. Pirate mentioned that it may be a permissions issue. I will check on that.
