I know the title can sound like a whining but, instead, I'm was just confused about posing the question per se... So, "problem" is that I don't need a lot of stuff and my PC is far distant from been a beast... How to remove plugins after installation? Any safe way to avoid messing up the shells (I'm only using the x64/VST3)?

Bundle version is 2018.12.05... I know that there are lot of new versions out there but they just add more unnecessary stuff... ah! and yes, I know that there are a lot of better alternatives... I'm also aware that "waves is trash" and that sort of stuff... so please, can we stick to topic?

Extra points if someone can guide me through cleaning up the soundgrid stuff too... Thanks in advice...

I tried this a long ago and didn't succeeded. I know now more but I don't use Waves.

What I'd do is try to find the equivalent of the .vst3 files in the "jungle" of Waves folders. A file that when you delete it it doesn't show as a plugin.
Let's say you believe is waves.CLA.whatever.dat (I'm making this up). Move the file out of its original folder, or better, zip/rar the file and delete the original.
If you succeed then you can go after all the other data (presets, impulses,...).

Easier said than done, I know. This question has probably asked several times in forums like this one.

This is where I like the VR release a lot more. Download the VR 10.0.0.6 patch. I think that's the latest patch.

Then I just install Wave Center, log in, pick whatever plugin I want, even the new ones and install them. Run patch. And you're good.

I'd really recommend just getting rid of all R2R waves stuff, get the VR patch then pick exactly what you want through Wave Central. So much easier.

I dont think that waves is trash, but yes it is definitely bloated. From what I know it is not possible to eliminate anything after a full install. The only way to get rid of unnecessary plugins is during installation: unfortunately a time consuming task due to a questionable logical design of the Wave Center installer. Computer has to be online.

    Instructions (macos)

    First of all Uninstall:

    take a deep breath

Uninstall and delete anything related to waves and Delete the main Waves folder

    /Applications.

    Delete the Waves Preferences folder

    /Users/Your User/Library/Preferences

    Delete the Waveshell files

    /Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins

    /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

    /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/MAS

    /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST

    /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3

    Empty Trash

    Install again

    Launch Wave Center installer

uncheck every driver (I dont use any waves hardware)

    uncheck bundles

Check only pugins needed (The list has more than 300)

All this process could take 30min or more and has to be repeated every new release: a nightmare

    goodluck

simple... (it's best to do these steps before you allow the DAW to scan the waves plugins)

i use Windows, btw...not sure how this applies to macOS

    - go to the folder where waves is installed
    - open the folder 'plug-ins v10' (it might be called something else)
    - remove the plugin packages/folders you don't want

if you're doing it after your DAW has scanned them, then you have to move the shell from it's location (maybe to the desktop), then rescan your vst's in the DAW so that waves isn't listed, then do the above steps, put the shell back where it was, then rescan plugs in the DAW. the new waves listing will only show the plugins you kept.

I tried to delete plugins as you suggest and it works! This is faster than the official wave central method

Coolbeanz is on the ball, the folder is located in...

    Program Files (x86)/Waves/Plugins V10/
Inside that folder you will see the various plugin folders that contain the separate dlls, hold shift and click click click etc on the folders of the plugs you don't want, then press delete to delete the selected folders.

Now everything in the VR release works, like StudioRack + MultiRack.

If by legit you mean a 10minutemail and 12345 for a pw. :)

I like R2R, but for Waves I think VR does it better. Offline installer too.

    All good though.
