Hi all! Has anyone ever figured out how to set this bad boy up for MIDI data recording/output? Tried putting it on top of fx chain and sending MIDI to another track, but no go.

 

Honestly, I own it but never actually use it. But it seems to work like almost any other MIDI generator in Reaper.

I assume you're trying to record the MIDI it is ouputting, right? I typically use two tracks for this (like you).

Track 1: Has RhyGenerator, then below that, my VSTi that creates the sound. Make sure Mode is set to Note, Arp Up/Down or Chord.
Track 2: just an empty track for recording the generated MIDI.

- Drag the routing icon from 1 to 2, turn off audio routing.. keep MIDI routing
- Arm track 2 for recording
- Set it to Record: Output (MIDI) <- i'm guessing you missed this step.
- Hit record

This worked for me.
