it is absolutely forbidden not to comply with the "system" rules.

From now on you will speak only when spoken to, and the first and last words out of your filthy sewer will be ‘Sir’

  8. I bet it was that damnable dominatrix, @Lois Lane told you I like a bit of Rum, Sodomy and The Lash. And I'm not referring to The Pogues album. Although I do quite like the Pogues.

Covid was worse than each one individually. But as a nice concise package like this, I am unsure.

Another reason we can all hope to forget 2020.

I know what I'm saying may sound silly, but in order to get to the top positions in the music world, we need to listen to these styles of pop culture so that this culture can permeate us.

Modern pop culture is a special kind of culture that has nothing to do with music. The goal of pop is not music at all. The reason a lot of people in the field of music oppose this culture is because they think pop culture is the cheap form of music, in case I tell you, pop culture is not music at all.

I can't say exactly who and what intentions are spreading this culture, but we have no choice but to absorb this culture into our souls. We need to get close to this culture to be a part of us.

Honestly, anybody who's been here for two minutes, knows that 99% of this board has a bunch of HATERS for almost anything mainstream, Pop, new, and so on... and DON'T tell me I'm lying cause there's a deluge of posts here to prove this! So, it's almost like the OPs who make those types of posts already know the answers they are looking for! The NEGATIVE answers already started to pile up (and even expected). How can people who already dismiss the music be its critic? Yeah! That part.
Well, I'll be one (of the slim few here) with an exception to this cause as an open format DJ and someone who produces modern and similar sounds, I follow and know this sh*t!

Not every single song on that list was worth it. Yes, we had the plastic ones, the rehash ones, and all the Slap House tracks sounded the same. However, there are some stand out in terms of production value (besides popularity).

    * 2020 was the year where Synthwave, Lo-Fi, and 80's influenced songs shoot up in the U.S music production (and beyond).
Dua Lipa and The Weeknd were at the forefront. As far as Pop with a mix of nostalgic '80s, Future Nostalgia (Dua Lipa) and After Hours (The Weeknd) had great production and songs.
    * Harry Styles was quite a surprise as he showed that he could deliver outside of One Direction. 'Watermelon Sugar' is actually enjoyable if you don't dismiss it because it's from a Pop artist.
    * Doja Cat's 'Say So', was another Pop hit that borrowed the nostalgic back-in-the-day production flow.
    * Inside of the U.S, besides Synthwave and Lo-Fi production, Trap is still KING! Jack Harlow's 'What's Poppin', DaBaby's 'RockStar', 24K Golden & Iann Dior's 'Mood', and Roody Rich's 'The Box' will fill the dancefloor ASAP!
    * Hate her as much as you all can but the biggest "Oh sh*t" of 2020 throughout the entire music industry in the U.S was Taylor Swift's 'Folklore'. Again, slow down and take away the automatic hate because of the artist who did that record, listen to it and a critic would realize how nice the production is on that album.
    * Powfu's Death Bed, Chris Brown's 'Go Crazy', Eminem's 'Monster', David Guetta's 'Let's Love', Kygo's 'Like It Is' are all songs that did what they suppose to do: To be BIG and enjoyed as mainstream tracks. Nothing less!
    * The only artist I'll dismiss altogether from this list is 6ix9ine

I want this shit to die soon, just my opinion. Its already become boring to the point that every other track in this genre has the same elements and mumble-ish "rap"

And there you GO! The OP confirm what I was thinking in my reply above: "So, it's almost like the OPs who make those types of posts already know the answers they are looking for!" Yup!

I am only willing to donate 3mins to this experiment. I listen to a lot of pop and hip-hop & r&B radio which is pretty much consistent on the entire East Coast in the USA.

I don't recognize about half of that stuff. None of it is terrible, it's all disposable but there is just too much stuff on that list. 12.27 minutes and the average clip lenght is between 10-8seconds that is 75+ songs. It's a bit of song dumpster.

Either way some cool songs in there I've never heard before. Also, what is a top song Chicago, might not do so well in St. Petersbutg, Berlin, Poopoznysberg, Riga, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Tehran, Ryad, Ciaro, Sidney, Bishkek or Ulan Bator.

Thanks for the cool tunes but this is a bit of a piss take.

Also I don't get this new style of making ultra short songs in EDM like 2-3 mins (looking at you future house). I miss the time when songs were atleast 4+ mins. each and their intros weren't boring at all

No one in What are you listening to now? listens to this kind of culture. I'm encouraging people to go to this culture sometimes so that they don't get away from it.

What surprises me is that when no one here listens to these songs, then who are the producers of these songs?:dunno:
