Hi my friends, once a time,i was watching an interview which,a professional producer had opened his project and he had soloed the lines of his multitrack.
he played for example a beatbox line,he had been recorded a choir with 12 swedish person and... . he told that these lines are exist in the music, but no body can hear it! they won't hear in the music at all.the question is that, why did he put these line into his music?? why did he recorded a choir with 12 person, while it's not hearable.does it have any effect to listener?or to the music?can someone describe more about this?

Maybe he didn't mean "hear" per se. It could very well be "notice" or "discern". There are many sounds that are not easily discernible (individually) but contribute to the overall timbre of the sound you hear. It can be an illusion of being just one sound if it's well blended. So, yeah, it makes sense. If it works, it works.

Maybe it's all about layering. Sometimes you think you hear one (1) sound, when it is fact five (5) sounds or more layered ontop of each other.

Please post a link of the interview or something (so we don't have to speculate). I'm swedish btw.
edit: basically what Gramofon already said before me.

i usually put some cool loops in the break section or in the drop with hard lowpass and hipass, bring volume really down and send it to parallel comp bus. sometimes help the track give it more vibe even if you can't really hear in the mix because your attention is for the leads or bass and others main instruments. EDM here

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFEC-vYBI6Y here is the link
(he speakes persian.he talks about his hidden sound,in 4:22 until 5:22 he plays them, then he plays original track.he also said that there are many lines like this!

actually im not agree with you my friends :-| .cause what is it necessity to use many kind of these tracks while they re not herable at all??
for example if he would put the choir more louder in the mix, that was sound more beautifull(it it was more hearble).why did he do like this?? i think it's one of the music industry secret that no body knows about it.it can maybe affect you to listen that trak more and more.

if even you put a sound in your mix in low volume for example it's loudness would be around -20 db .we cant really hear that, but it exist in the mix!! i think it's playing his role in the track and maybe affect the listener even if we can't hear it.do you agree with me?

    1) Layering, as Baxter said above
    2) Effort. Sometimes you are obligated to use something just because someone put in lots of effort, but it just doesn't sit well in the mix if it's too loud. So you mix it in really quiet so you can't hear it (almost), but you can claim "I used it!" if you press the solo button.

Actually, a lotta big name artist/producers mix like this with high track counts (50-100) with lots of little things that can't be heard, and can only be heard if you solo it AND gain it by 10 or 20dB.

    It all depends.

Layering can be very effective. There are only CPU- and imagination limits. There are no rules. I know a japanese sound designer designed ringtones to make women breasts bigger, because the ringtone was similar to the sound of a crying/screaming baby (and therefore, as it was high in pitch, it was easily heard in a noisy environment...and needed less power to generate sound as the tiny speaker is designed/targeted around that 2kHz-ish frequency range).

Read a book on sound design, sound synthesis, mixing, mastering, etc.

So, you can hear it but you can't discern it (or tell which sound contributes what exactly) at some given time or situation. Decide.

There is no point in using it if you can't hear it (in some way or another).

A lot of times sounds are placed into a mix in effort to give a certain feel to a song vs a certain sound. It would be cool for him to bypass that channel so that you could feel that something was missing vs hearing something was missing.
