If by "funk" you mean the dictionary explanation then i'd say its ok although a bit repetitive. If by funk you mean the musical genre then this is not anywhere close to being funk or funky. Also the basic rhythm is a rumba beat making it a sort of a Reggaeton track rather than Brazilian.
I 'll grant you that is nice, easy to the ear, in the context of being melodic, although i would expect some variation on your basic accordeon hook at some point. The mix is a bit noisy for me, some EQ sorting with the samples at play would be nice. Overall it is sweet and kinda groovy but not Brazilian Funk mate. You need some action on your basslines to be funky, imho always :winker: See if you can get your track(s) with more to the point names please. I put a like there for your time spent to work on it, it was fine listening to it, keep it up :)
    Cheers.

@taskforce brazilian funk is totally different to the funk! brazilian funk its rhythmic, the drums and percussion are the most important of the track... here is a example of a brazilian funk

the production? really? I mean i don't listen to that style or happy music either... but... it is clean. polished. the arrangement is mabe not mindblowing. but somehow not necessary. think ppl who like that style really can fuck w it. imho you could at least say how to improve that track if ya say its wack.

You are objectively wrong and still found it necessary to belittle someone with two separate posts (insecurity?). I've been lucky enough to work with baile funk in the past and despite your limp dick criticism the song posted is consistent to genre's internal "quality" standards, it a different tonal and rhythmic aesthetic than other western dance music. The genre as a whole isn't rooted in next level production value and is intended to be danced to and MC'd over, as a result it may not conform to your perception of popular music but if you look on youtube for "big" artists and songs (10 million+ views) within the genre you'll notice that what memex posted is actually superior in a lot of ways.

The tune is very cool Memex, not THAT br funk but it's cool on it's on

Have listening PASSIVELY (i hated that shit) all my Rio de Janeiro childhood (0 to 22 yo), this isn't the kind of 'music' you'd take on a daily basis, trust me, you can't hear more than 15 minutes of that shit (there are overnight parties tho and it's really wild, mainly in not so wealthy areas, "favelas"), it must be pretty WILD to non local EYES, as any other cultural movement we haven't discovered yet...

    this one is a GEM:

I wish you guys could get the lyrics!!! DEM LYRICS!!!!

    Sango, Addison Groove
are some international that i like on their take on the brfunk

    Happy holydaze you all!

I agree with you, however the OP's song doesn't really sound br. funk. It has too much harmony and no dirty (sexual) lyrics that is the most noticable part of the br. funk.
So, in short explanation, it sounds too good (too melodic) to be a real funk.
It could be defined more like a caipira baile pop.

Not that I've ever liked this genre but if you want real funk that doesn't sound brega mixture of sertanejo/forró from the Northeast with some rythmic elements from funk, you need to do something similar to this
Having said that, it's still possible that you can attract audience from the Northeast with your version, too. But I wouldn't consider it funk.

I can tell you used GTranslate, nobody talks, like that, you prolly typed "....trash, PERIOD."
Just the other dude looks like true grit @BudSpencer

Dude how can it be for pretentious people if its made by those who hadn't any access to a computer before like 10 years ago
    read this
    THIS

if we talking about that kondzilla shit that i didn't even knew about or other similar, like anitta, ludmila and all that shit all right, but looking in the history, there wasn't much originality, first it was sampled beats from miami bass/freestyle movement, and the lyrics, oh yes, those were next level man, cause people hardly knew how to write (much like me when talking english) and the flex on the lyrics was mind blowing if not intelligent, maded by those not so blessed in life

And then it became that sexual aggressive nonsense shit, the drum pattern became that tcha tcha tchun it's terrible, i DO respect other people take Memex, Sango does a pretty job, but as i said it's not music you hear on the radio (as if it was something) but you got that, music to people who hadn't access to much things we think for granted like education, culture, they can't drive their own head to some subjects like culture or a strong righteous personality. look fok u fok me......

you are right indeed that it is trash, but just needed to speak for them im not PC and shit but i like to always keep it "real" 100%

it's sounds good bro, but sounds like the old brazilian funk that we usually have here in Brazil, the "modern" funk called "mandelão, 150bpm, tamborzão, funk BH, Funk SP" it's more clean with less elements, just a hard kick and a metalic perc like a bottle hit

Nope... Portuguese is my language. Sorry to disappoint you.
Mas já que insistes, vou dizer da melhor forma.
Funk brasileiro é merda, tal como kizomba angolana.
