No surprises here, really. Some developers send DMCA notes even on weekends. Hopefully everyone could take a piece of cake before it was gone. I only wonder if that means that there will be no more libraries of this company in the future?

Good question. @Olymoon: do takedown requests only include present links or can they apply to any future releases not dropped so far?

A few of the expansions made it on torrents, but overall not that many. If R2R got falcon wouldnt they also have vintage vault 3 and emulation 2. The Big Game must go on. Really i dont understand how they get it taken down so quick, i guess everyone else doesn't mind their products being on the site.

its all on torrents too. Takedown doesnt stop the web from distributing it.

Dont worry all made it to torrents. even the ones not shared by DECiBELLE.

Yesterday there was already a developer of some released falcon libraries responding in the GONG thread. From there it shouldn't take long for a takedown req.

as others have mentioned, cracked software is the best free advertising for developers. most of them understand this.

Its a good instrument, i get it. However, it really doesnt compare to other tools out there. For example compare falcons oscillators to obsession. or compare falcons meteor pack with one riser + one impact to keepforest risenge with 8 combined which can be risers, suckbacks, wooshes or impacts. All individually definable and sequenced separately in an internal timeline.

I do see where falcon is a good AIO, but it just doesnt compare to its competition
    edit: typo

Couldn't agree more. They should of put a bit more creativity and effort into the program, then being more worried someone might crack it. I didn't miss it when it came out, and I don't miss it now. Even they know that, seeing as they never bothered with a demo to push their product. Nobody is using this and I remember lots of people trying to sell this thing after they bought it. Most everything that is out now smokes this thing. Even lots of free stuff if you know what you are doing

I downloaded it, played with the factory content for 10 minutes, uninstalled the software. Overrated, at least compared to the tools I already have here. I can only imagine that must also happen with proper buyers since they must rely on youtube videos and reviews, because... well...there's no demo. Now we have a demo, thanks R2R :)

Falcon does not interest me as a sampler, UVI libraries are the other thing. I own most of them and I can assure you that they are worth every penny. You don't need Falcon to run them though ;) And the most of them was not released on warez sites. But Beat Anthology or Vintage Vault are very usable gems.

That's the reason I bought Halion 6. The library itself is ok, depending on what you are in to. I'll probably use it for some bread and butter sounds, maybe a few other things. It's got other forms of synthesis apart from the sampler section, and I think I'll be able to make up some decent patch banks with the granular and wavetable offerings. It's kind of a convenient jack of all trades, better at some things than others. I bought it really for its ability to load many different sample formats including the ability to read iso cd files. That was its killer feature for me. If I got a few decent sample libraries on top then even better, and the granular and wavetable synthesis was just the cherry on the cake. No FM, but I already have the best of FM synths in existence. No loss.

I'm not sure I want to go learning another deep ecosystem when my main focus is to make up my own libraries of stuff I've collected over the years - vocal samples, drum grooves, beats, loops, guitar. The video demos by Simon Stockhausen sold me on it and it's just what I want to fulfill my sound design needs. At least you can see what you are doing a bit better than with Kontakt.

And if I just wanted a "Rompler" to play back libraries, I already have Kontakt and Komplete plus a few 3rd party things on top. As I said, I'm not a massive sample user, but I do like making up my own things to use in my own projects. Between Halion and Kontakt I really don't feel as if I am missing out on anything. In fact, I use DirectWave quite a bit and that is a very under-rated sampler. It can also take a wide range of formats and is very quick and easy to work with. The window is resizable if you do the hack that is out there to make the vst look like the internal DirectWave built in to Flstudio, and that makes it a lot more fun to work with.

I'm hoping that Steinberg are working on a version 7 of Halion as it's been a while now since it was updated. I'm holding out for FM more than anything else. It would be good to be able to integrate that in to patches.

As for UVI Falcon, I only really wanted to get the Synsations library to see if it's as lacklustre as a lot of people say it is. I'm sure it's adequate enough, but if it was that great they wouldn't be just giving it away with every other plugin in these black friday sales. I've managed to dl a decent enough selection of the smaller expansions, so I'm going to give them a spin in the next few days. I'm not a film composer or anything like that, so using a multi-gig sample library that has taken someone (or several people) months to create, and that costs hundreds of pounds, well, it just feels like cheating, musically.

I think the whole rarity aspect of Falcon has created a mystique that it probably doesn't deserve, but I'll hold judgement on that until I've given it a little trial run. Thank you R2R and sister site! I'm prepared to be underwhelmed, but I'm also prepared to be blown away. Having a 20GB library that was months or years in the making is not going to tell me anything about the instrument itself. I know what I want to achieve with my sound design (it's nothing too intricate), so I'll just approach it in the same fashion as I would on an instrument like Halion, that I know fits my workflow (though it could be better).

its a great collection , but each of them has a better alternative somewhere else , I guess its a good one time buy bundle and only use falcon as your go to for everything-which you should because it has a steep learning curve- . but +5k$ is a very large investment

Fast curve from "gimme all of that" to "never mind, it sucks anyway".

(No offense 2 anyone, just an observation)

Interesting. I haven't seen any additional ones other than the ones on the sister site.
