    Howdy folks

I was wondering if anyone knew how to change riffs in action strings

EG: What i want to do is say play riff one, on the verses say, then change to riff 2 on the chorus, but i just can't work out how to do it

I have a midi channel set to midi channel 1 and the riff plays back fine for the verse, just as i want it to, but when the chorus comes up and i want to change to riff 2 i don't know what to do

Is it a case of setting up two midi tracks and two instances of kontakt and playing riff one on midi channel 1 with the first instance of kontack, then play riff 2 on midi channel 2 with the second instance of kontakt

Sorry if this don't make sense but it's the best way i can describe it

    Cheers

I thought you just use key switches to change riffs.

Sorry man, what do you mean, I'm pretty clueless with kontakt, I'm just getting into how it works you see?

Say I have a riff I want to play from one section, but then i want to use another riff from a completely different section, how do i do it?

    cheers

C0 plays riff 1 C#0 plays riff 2 etc. So in your midi track you place a note at D0 and it will trigger your third riff and so on. It's in the manual, also on youtube.

Cheers dude, I'll have a look at it

Ok, I've got how you change a riff in the same section by adding a midi note the c0 etc.

But how do I take a completely different riff from a completely different section to use?

Eg: Say I wanted to use riff 1 from the basic 8ths section on the verses, then use riff 3 from the marching section on the chorus, then say, riff 2 from the 16ths section on the bridge?

Would i need to use 3 instances ok kontakt, or is there a way around it?

Thanks man, sorry for the dumb ass questions, but you know what it's like when you're trying to get to something, it's frustrating as hell

With 1 patch, you can have up to 10 rhythms (you see 5 of them but you can switch with the buttons slots 1-5/ 6-10 at the bottom).

You can choose sets of rhythms with the arrows but you can also change them one by one by clicking on the partition line (if I remember correctly).

There are tons of videos guiding you through this if you need. Have fun!

Don't feel too bad. I had issues with it too....
Actually think it transitions riffs quite badly sometimes too but oh well!
