You know that sound FL makes when it's done rendering audio, that annoying tone? How the fuck do I get rid of it?

I believe I went through every single tab in the options menu and nothing.. I read the manual, nothing. I googled how to do this and nothing... I signed in for Image Line's forum hoping to see someone who had the same issue and... nothing. I can't post on their forum 'cause I'm not a 'customer' lol.

Feels like the illuminati blocked access to this info 'cause they know it'll destroy their society

FFS.. someone help, please. It's making me frustrated. :dunno:

Even tried to find it in the installation files hoping to replace it with a silent file, nothing.

Does anyone know what is this file called? The annoying tone?

There's a silent theme. Try that.

thank you, I figured it out in the mean time

For future reference, in case anyone wants to get rid of that annoying tone:
Just had to create a file with silence, convert it to .wv with Ease Audio Converter and replace that annoying sucker

sorry, it was my fault!

I posted this thread and then found out there's a dedicated section to FL Studio so I posted there as well... literally two minutes after posting, I figured out where the render tone file was and I posted the fix there.. I don't know how to delete threads so I left this one here :dunno:

cool, those metronomes might come handy

  10. I quite like the metronome sound, not so much the render which I will change to Julia Child saying something pertinent. It never entered my mind to deal with it, but now....

I have no clue who Julia Child is but that gave me an idea.

I should change the 'render is done' sound to Robocop's infamous 'your move, creep'.

A lot of times I'm doing sound design and use high gain distortion and other 'nasty' effects on the master so you can imagine what happens when the render sound is triggered, especially that loud, annoying default sound.

I do that sort of thing (in video, too), and almost always end up regretting it when the project grows. The conventional wisdom, I think, is to stick everything (other than maybe meter plugs/brickwall limiter) on a bus, like this:
This lets you use just as few plugs, but leaves open the option to run some tracks without these "global" effects.
No idea how long you've been using DAWs, sorry if this is "well duh!" & i'm preaching to the pope. Just in case tho.

I like to divide my projects in, more or less, four phases: sound design, composition, mixing, mastering. It's only in the sound design stage, where I'll be designing very specific sounds, that I tend to have 'nasty' global effects on the master channel. No special reason for this, just a habit, I guess. After designing a specific sound, I'll open a new .flp for the next one and so on, until I have a library of sounds I'll be using in the composition stage. Reason for this is to leave the technical aspects (well, most of them anyway) in the sound design, mixing and mastering stages. If I'm worrying about it in the composition stage, I tend to lose my focus on the vibe and start being an engineer instead of a musician.

The only issue I was having was that annoying tone getting distorted, loud, weird or whatever happens to it once it's triggered. Now I got rid of it, once and for all. I definitely buss things in later stages, when it starts getting busy.

Anyway, I see you love to help and go to great lengths (nice graphics, drop shadow effect behind the words and everything ), in order to do so and that is cool as fuck!

I think that's pretty much what FL's "New from template" is (those are just projects saved to C:\Program Files (x86)\Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Projects\Templates).
Not sure if useful, but there's this:
sorta does the same thing (saves/loads a mixer track, along with all the effects chain/plugs, same settings etc.), so you can dial in & save your effects chains. Like a preset, but for the mixer.
Had Shop open, have that 0 offset shadow as the default preset. Be thankful I didn't go for one of those "hey, check out this new really cool f0nt!!1!" fonts:hillbilly:

Oh yeah, I'm aware of these. Never use the templates except one with no limiter on the master, made it my default. The mixer presets get used every now and then, especially the ones I made myself.

There's another thing that annoys me a lot in FL and that's moving tracks up and down in the playlist. The way I do it is by right-clicking and depending if I to go up or down, press U or D. This is time-consuming and a pain in the ass, tbh. Let's say I'm using 100+ tracks in the playlist and want to move track 102 to the place of track 62, I'd have to literally click and press a key 40 times. And I believe you can't even do this for multiple tracks, at least I don't know how to do it. So moving tracks 101, 102 and 103 to position 61, 62 and 63 would mean I have to click and press a key 120 times!

Of course I could drag'n'drop the clips instead of the tracks but that's no practical either, most of the times. You moved your clips around and have your tracks nicely organized, etc...

Are you aware of a easier/faster/less tedious way of doing this?

    Sorta. ShifT + mouse scroll.

moves tracks or track groups (right-click=>Group with above track).
