Ok...so I've had ableton 8.2 cracked forever...then I decided to download 8.2.7 update...try that out...wouldn't crack...kept saying invalid key...then i tried to open my old 8.2 program and it opens up fine...but when i try to select my audio 2 dj sound card it INSTANTLY CRASHES EVERY TIME!!!

My audio 2 works fine...no problems with that...I think the ableton 8.2.7 maybe instaled some type of file to make live crash every time i select my sound card? I don't know but i've tried everything i can think of re-isntalling (deleting all preferences...libary files etc...) And it still crashes...

Does anybody know what i can do...short of reformatting my Mac OSX? Thanks a million in advance...driving me crazy

 

by reset do you mean totally uninstall? Do i have to reinstal all my vsts too?

cause i already tried reinstalling the whole program...

 

i tried reinstalling again...found the prefs folder

users/library/application support/ableton
HDD/library/application support/ableton
users/library/prefrences/ableton

deleted the app folder of course...

still doing the same thing...and I dont even have VSTS or AU's (i use both usually) activated atm...so i dont think that would affect it.
ugh...this is so frustrating...guess im just going to try to download a new crack of live? I dunno its doing the same shit with 8.2.6 so i dont even fucking know if that will work...

ok so basically ableton totally authorizes fine...sounds work out of my laptop speakers...

but once i open my prefs and select audio 2 dj it crashes right away...doesnt say why asks me to send a report

 

audio 2 dj is my soundcard when i try to load my soundcard it just crashes on me no matter what version of ableton i try

 

i think theres something litterally forcing it to crash...cause i've tried like 3 different ableton instals none work...? Maybe the trial software installed some kind of file that crashed ableton? I dont know but this fucking sucks i really dont want to have to reformat but i dunno what else 2 do...

nope...thats why im so confused! been using ableton for over a year with this same soundcard always worked right until i tried that ableton 8.2.7 update....fml i guess reformatting is the final solution but thats sooo lame i have to reformat and reinstal everything just cuz ableton is fucking up? Besides i just reformatted my OSX a few weeks ago don't want to do it again....


I dont know if the trial i downloaded from the live website installed a file to crash live or what

 

Are other devices (iTunes, Traktor, Standalone PlugIn) playing through your Soundcard Ok ?

You might try unplugging all connected USB/FW devices, wait for a minute -- then plug them back in again
Maybe reinstall the Driver Software for the Audio 2 DJ Interface

 

Also -- make sure you check some of these threads before you wipe your drive

Have you not tryed to roll back your systm to when your ableton was working.

 

i tried all of that...reinstalling driver software all of it...soundcard works fine as it always has through itunes..etc. Don't really know wtf to do...think im just gonna reinstall...i don't think i can roll back my mac osx unless i have time machine setup which i dont....

and all those threads on google search had a similar question to mine but no actual answer...

so basically looks like im screwed...

 

guess im gona reformatt...soooooo lame though....users beware downloading the ableton trial app...it must have something in it that forces live to crash...because as soon as i instaled the 8.2.7 update this happened...so its gotta be the cause

 

Dude that sucks -- You could try uninstalling Ableton Suite with a third party plugIn like AppZapper or CleanMyMac --
and then downgrading to the last stable version (Never know, worth a shot -- I'd exhaust ALL efforts before a reformat)

CleanMyMac does a good job snagging all Application related files (Prefs, Hidden and visible attribute files, Licenses, etc) -- It might make a difference (??)

well...i just did it....i already tried an appcleaner and it didnt work, its cool i was over it...i uninstallled...reinstalled and uninstalled again times a dozen...tried purging all files reinstalling drivers...etc.

Whatever...im in the process of reinstalling everything its not too bad i guess I kind of have reformatting down to a science now and with a firewire drive the speeds aren't bad...
