    Thank you BEAT16
But it really doesnt work here :(
Live still starts scanning on startup.

    I can live with it.
The window disappears after a few minutes.
But i would like to keep it away :)

Yeah, it works for me. I eventually turned it off because I found that whenever I actually added a new VST and told it to scan manually, it had to go through the process of doing a full scan. Because I've got a shedload of warez in there, and I was always adding new VST's to try them out, I decided that just going with the default was faster and more convenient.

I've got a sense that it didn't work when I first tried it out and I had to do something that fixed it. I think I may have initially had it in the wrong folder?

The scan shouldn't be causing errors with your firewall though. Which firewall are you using?

Edit: Ah, I see you've sorted the firewall thing out.

Yeah Plugin scanner was rewritten and therefore internal commands were dropped by Ableton.

I know it sucks, since the Scan does nothing, when you open Live now. It just scans something, while not discovering new vsts which were added since the last run. (I tried that, you have to open settings and run the scan again - totally useless.) So i am not sure what Live is doing there exactly.

There is a trick I do sometimes if there is an install problem of a vst or some other problems. Rename the vst suffixs (dll) that were not recognized by AL. do a scan then close Ableton Live and restart it again. then rename the suffix back to dll and scan again. And if still not works then the problem is in the plug-in itself.

Yep, It doesn't work anymore. Sometimes the indexer joins in to a fuck party.

Since I have an overkill build Ryzen 5600x & RTX 3060 TI with SN850 SSD (8 GB sec read & write)
I don't have to wait for any plugin scan it's done in like 2 seconds to run Ableton (it scans like 560 waves plugins...etc it's done within like 2 blinks of an eye)
I know on my shitty laptop it would take like 3 minutes to scan the waves complete bundle and my other plugins...but with a good PC I don't have to worry anymore

its all funny fast on a new system, but painful slow on older systems, where otherwise L11 just works fine.

Yeah indexer and Pluginscanner just do their thing at the same time, so on older systems, ableton is not usable for like 5-10 mins.

I am still not sure why Ableton decided to plugin scan when opening Live 11? I mean not that i moved plugins, even if i did, Live wouldnt find it and complain. If the startupvstscan just would also discover new plugins, while it scans, this would something major useful, but now its useless - on older systems -!
