some of you might know my ambient stuff.. but i do other stuff too. Most easy (in the musical context) for me is to make a remix or a cover. And i often doing such things. But what is a reconstruction or a cover from a vocalsong without vocals? Actually i'm reconstructing New Order's - blue monday. Together with the song sheet, melodyne and my ears - i reconstructed every track/element except of that jet crash fx sound (at the harbor) oh and yes the vocals (which - by the way - are heavy processed).

I would say i'm open minded and i listen to different kind of music. Actually i'm more in to acoustic stuff and i'm not a big fan of 4 to the floor beats.

My some words about my music work. If i do remixes some of my projectfiles reaches the additional "_20" - on one day i resave a projectfile up 5 times (as i have some problems to get into my own projects files most of them never reach _10). With other words if i do a remix - i spent (much) more time with it and not only of the reason that a remix is more work.. OR again with other words - if i would receive a vocalfile you could be sure (i would be thankful) i would respectfully work as hard and as long as i can to make a good tune out of it - promised!

Right now i could imagine two different kind of rework - some acoustic and a half acoustic half electronic rework. May one less and the other one more progressive then the original tune.

So what you think about it?

I used cubase alot but now (and for this tune) i mostly using studio one.

Sure actually i'm trying to get the scribble a lil bit cleaner - will up it soon.

As mentioned before this hasn't to be seen as a guide - i just collected all the melodies/sounds.. and made small edits. The beat for example is weak - no edit etc.

It's missing the fx sound and the vocals.. but the are in the project file. I replaced the voice part with an acoustic guitar (the dry one).

I'm not into that stylestuff.. never heared that berlin school before only at english websites but never in germany.
Like you i don't want to make rules or stuff like that about how you should sing.
I like original singing.. i'm missing the right words in english, but i would say he sings the song kind of relaxed,
little bit dirty and with humor - i like how he sing "beach". Often i prefer "natural" singing - but i like some
effected and or autotuned stuff too. But i think a dry voice would be good as a basic but also thought about a
megaphoned voice and as doors did often add a whispering voice. BT did a good remix of them, nubreed
with skunk anansie wheep, hybrid with some alanis morissette stuff or rabbit in moon with depeche mode waiting for the night.

all of them made a remix / new track with a personal note/style.

But this might only where there train starts driving..

However i will make a non chaotic projectfile and send it to you / make it available for download.

and most notabley, as I was thnking about it.. the song..... Sex,(I'm a)

listened to it several times already... you have a nice grasp on music my friend.

Guess the main thing I felt was missing was the driving bassline from the original?

Thinking about Rolma i also came to an idea how she could sing -
there is a song called +++ angel by front 242 - for this song they
had a female singer .. which nicely screamed.

Yes, i also think we should look what is in the wagon right now..
surely i will take a look out of the window, to see if she wants
to jump in.

With bass i also unhappy - but i had it in mind to let this bass
the basic one - want(ed) to add another one or may exchange it.
Yes the drive is missing - will work on it.

Even if i hope you will or have already found a lil bit time to
play and sing with the track - i would say take your time.

Hey guys, Jack, One Reason.
I'm back from a lil trip...I'm ready for collabs...enthusiastic in fact.

Just to say "Blue Monday " is one of my favorite songs..always drags me to dance floor....and your version it's just beautiful, so so soulful!
Secondly right now I'm planning to switch to Studio One and lastly I really enjoy collaborate and learn from other producers-artists work-flow.
Another thing that has always been pending it's a collab with One Reason!

So count on me. I jump in!

Definitely I like your style it's very interesting.
I mean your own compositions are very intriguing and the way you treat your covers is subtle,

So lets do this thing, me and Jack have been going back and forth with it a little.. heres a bit of what I've just done

Jack.. this has a touch of vocoder on the pertinent bars as I'd mentioned..

Also, I just turned off all instruments, and used only the .ogg files, including the ones you just sent me with the ones that were there already.. much simpler.

Plus.. it stops me from being tempted to add more resonance to that bassline..on the TAL-U-NO-LX

Personally, I would like to do some more processed vocals, or automation of effects on them, perhaps some ping pong delays in places and \or a stutter or two used tastefully.

Right now its just a bit of delay and reverb... Standard. Vocoded parts are on a second track.

He is still working on the music end of the project, meanwhile I have my own lil' version over here That I am tracking vocals on..

What you heard is all I have done so far..and will probably be re-sang... sort of working my way thru the song section by section..It's probably been 20 years since I sang this so I'm kind of re-learning it and trying to put my own style on it. (which is actually quite similar)

I'm not sure how Jack may want to proceed, lets just let him decide how he wants to get all 3 of us together on it.. but I would think i will have to get at least a decent whole track recording of my vocal done before you could lay something down to go with it?

Then, after your vocals are all recorded too, they all could be effected and mixed. :dancing:

I'm trying to just wear my vocalist hat on this and let Jack decide how he would like to use the vocal tracks.
