They have to make a promotion because sales are not good... which is probably because people can't try it, so maybe Magnetrixx or someone else can help them *yes*

I was way into Heavyocity's product line when they first started (Evolve, Evolve Mutations 1 & 2), until everybody and their brother began using it ... and by "using it", I mean, nine times out of ten, the resulting music sounded like somebody who really didn't know anything about music just loaded up an Evolve loop menu and held down various keys for five minutes. I think it started after Heavyocity became part of the Komplete instrument package. Unfortunately, the sounds are so distinct that you can always pick them out, so when you use them, even well-mixed, creatively and in moderation, you wind up sounding like everybody else. There's a lot of great stuff, it's just been over-used.

I totally agree, but Heavyocity isnt the only one that have been over-used through the years .... I have it exactly the same way with romplers from Spectrasonics ... you can hear it right away if they´ve been used in a piece of sound/music.

I never used heaveyocity until today, but its interesting, I learn a lot with them but they only serve for a fast job.
Again, we must be taylor everything to serve the music, and not the oposite.
Its much better than Sample Logic (all I reduced to 25gb) ... maybe they deserve to be reduced too :dunno:

There's definitely a few libraries -- usually ones with great "one finger" sounds that you can get with zero effort -- that get used so much that it turns into a musical cliche'. I think you can still use them, it just requires a lot of ingenuity to get them to sound original again.

I also agree with phloopy but then again we are very spoiled, not every one has the ability to "try" as much as we do

Interesting that you should say that! Before I went completely virtual, I had maybe five or six hundred sounds total, spread out over five hardware keyboards, some multi-timbral modules and two drum machines, and I knew where they all were, what they all sounded like and was forced to operate within those limitations. I now have so many virtual synths and sample libraries, there's a good chance I will never get to use (or even play with) them all. The downside, of course, is that having so many resources at your disposal can easily become overwhelming.

Interesting how a topic on Heavyocity DM-307 has nobody actually talking about DM-307 - with a few people saying previous Heavyocity products are over used (sort of like saying I wont use maschine cos massive is used too much) and other mentioning the merits of having less libraries.

Anyone having anything to say about the actual topic or should we just talk about whats on tv tonight next? :)
