Hi all

I'm trying to mix heavy guitars, vocals within an EDM song, trance-ish style. I've sidechained compressed the heavy guitar bus against the vocal track which has worked wonders. I'm using waves Veq4 on the guitar bus, no compression, psp vintage warmer, bx shredspread and lastly fabfilter for final filtering.

My question is I guess,
1. so far is my bus array ok as is
2. I have used various settings on the final fabfilter plugin, high pass, subtractive stuff here and there...however, i have yet to hit the right result. I have attempted to read slippermans works but I just get lost in the ambiguity. Can anybody summarise in words or graphically (screen shot of eq) of what slippermans is on about. Also, would his ideas work in an EDM context. And, should slippermans settings be applied to the 1st eq unit, the veq4 or the final filtering eq of fabfilter....????

Further to this, how far should I adopt fine eq removal of unwanted frequencies on the guitar. I have noticed, probably with inexperience, that what I feel is an uwanted frequency and its subsequent removal, leaves the guitar lacklustre.

Does anyone have there own eq ideas for this scenario aside from slippermans? Would be great to find out and try
