I was also thinking about trying to use the song in question as a reference track for some of these newer mastering plugins, just to see what happens and how close it might get. It's not something I have done more than maybe 3 or 4 times a long time ago mainly for levels and nothing else, so any recommendations on which individual or suite multi-purpose type plugins that are pretty good with reference tracks?
