Hello all,

It's been a loooong time since I have been around and an even longer time since I did anything music-related.

My daughter has been humming this tune for a few days and she has no idea where she got it from, and since I liked it I made a little song out of it.

It has no lyrics, the guitars need a lot of re-doing and I'd like to add a solo somewhere in it one day, but you'll get the idea.

I play everything in it, with the drums re-arranged here and there by a good friend of mine.

I'd love constructive feedback, comments, ideas, etc. And please be gentle! I do this as a -very not often- hobby and I'm aware that I'm not a good guitarist; That's something for me to work on when I get the time. This is the fist time I share one of my songs.

The mixing needs some work but it's an interesting tune. And it's a nice change for me, as it's been some time since I've listened to anything metal-oriented.

 

Thanks mate. Yep, it does need work; done very quickly. AND most likely the last time I make a song in 3/4. Damn, that was weird!

 

Nice Man! I just got cans on my ears, will listen to it again back home.
Some ideas ... the bridges contain cool FX, maybe a little more ... verse variation or so?
The drums are awesome, you need to get them the prominence they deserve.

 

Thanks man. Good ideas. AS I finished this (and in a hurry) I thought of adding a broken piano to the chorus. What would you suggest for the drums? just to make them stand out more?

Funny fact: My daughter was very excited to hear herself sing; now she gets really scared by this track

I'm happy with the mix, although every time I open the project I change something, it's like a disease!! I guess in some ways the mix can be subjective (to a degree).

I'll try to wrap up another song I got going and I'll post it as well.

PS: I just saw you posted something as well. Going to check it out now.

 

lol at least you get your projects done, i rarely get my stuff completed and thats a worse disease damn those musician blocks

sorry for dropping out of conversation, don`t know if you read it, I had a lot of action the last 6 month and won`t get less, lol.
I really like these drums as well as the guitar. Some well known prod said "never take the low end of a guitar away" (don`t remember who, was cited in a tut vid).
Over EQing this guitar I would probably die , ... no joke, big respect for picking up a project like this, way over my head.
My little fella is a "eardrum killer" and hard to get with weird sounds, he`s curious about everything, haven`t seen him scared much, yet.
Flashing lights are his thing, guess I`ll use Maschine and let him trigger some resampled voice or do it while he`s triggering(?).
