I'm thinking of getting the Presonus Mixing Desk StudioLive AR12 USB
but I have a cracked copy of studio one 3.5 and I'm worried it won't work with it.

One shouldn't hav anything to do with the other........theres no correlation between wat software u hav
on ur computer and wat hardware u use.

 

No need to worry, it would work. In fact Studio One (cracked) works with all compatible hardware without a problem including Softube's Console 1. As a side note, if you don't need the AR12 as the default playback device another option at same price range is Faderport 8.

I second the it works thing. Using Studio One with a few different Studio Live boards. You select it as your audio device and you are good to go. Just don't log in to Studio One (as always).
I have been logged in to the Presonus account with the mixer and updated firmware that way, and still able to use Studio One without issue.

 

if you register and connect the hardware with universal control, anyone knows if that software "broadcasts" what you have installed?

 

The answer is "no".

 

ok, wondered, since the login screen for UC (hardware) uses an exactly looking login pop-up as S1 one uses for its account..

and i guess someone wouldn't be wanting to connect the dots from both a fixed software and your hardware that way, specially if you have registered it with your own name etc

 

What UC does when connected is communicate with Presonus for updates to its HARDWARE software. My engineer has the FaderPort 16 at home and uses it with Studio One 'legit" and "cracked" without any reported problems.

 

Has anyone tried the studio one remote app with a kracked version. I have studio one 4.5 and cannot get the remote app to sync

 

It's because your mobile app is not cracked, and it does check for license. You have to block registration.presonus.com on your phone. Or in your router.
