Depends on the plugin, Kontakt started doing that for me a month ago, but the problem is also present with VST and standalone, so it must be the Kontakt update I've installed meanwhile

To answer previous comments: No, it isn't normal for Pro Tools to be this slow on larger sessions the way AudioUtopia's 12.5 release behaves. AudioUtopia PT 12.3 is the version to use, IMHO.

Legit 12.4 in the studio I work in behaves in a similar manner, I often get rid of unused clips and then save as a new revision

I can't confirm if that is the normal ProTools behavior with large sessions, but I agree that AudioUtopia 12.3 version is more stable, reliable and a little bit faster than 12.5.

the GUI refresh block isn't related to project size, I also get it with just one VST channel :) avoid profools

Where can I find this release? It's gone from the sister site.

I can confirm that the same session I was working with Pro Tools 12.5 (and Pro Tools 12.3 - a little bit faster, but not good enough) runs very fast with Pro Tools 10 on a Mac. So I think that is a problem of AudioUtopia's release or just the way Pro Tools behaves on Windows.

Look well, "Avid Pro Tools HD v12.3.1.88512" by AudioUTOPiA is still there!

    Hi there!

I’ve made a few tests with ProTools lately and I came to the conclusion that the slow process issue in PT 12.5 or 12.3 is an AudioUTOPiA’s or a PT 12 version problem.

Using the same session I’ve mentioned before, I’ve tried to work with the two version of AudioUTOPiA’s PT (12.3 & 12.5) on different machines, with normal HD drives and with SSD drives, all of them with i7 Intel processors and 16GB of RAM (enough power to handle big audio sessions), in every case the result was the same: moving objects, trimming or crossfading took from 5 to 10 seconds of processing.

All the problems were resolved when I installed an old patched PT 10.3.5 HD version, suddenly everything was fast again.

So, if you have a big session with a lot of clips I would not recommend to use any of AudioUTOPiA’s PT releases (12.5 or 12.3), unless you like to wait a lot. Instead use PT 10.3.5 + patch 10.3 (beta7) + KillerBugs v2. You will get faster results.

    Greetings!
