I'm thinking I'd like to try Abbey Road Vinyl plugin from Waves - I have a copy of Waves Complete from alternate sources,inc. It seems like Complete is rather a lot of things, many of which I'd likely never use.
I think I had a couple Waves plugins back in the naughty aughties, but its been soooooo long, I cant say for certain.

Anyhow, I'm wondering does the installer give you the option to select which plugins and instruments you want to install or do you just have to take the whole lot and deal with it?

 

it depends, there are several options

-R2R: you have to install everything then delete manually what you dont want, not a big deal when you get used. And if you need 1 plugin only it's a matter of seconds. This way you dont need to install waves central, no account needed and everything works, including studioverse and cosmos

-RETsu: it's basically R2R's keygen alone. You have to download and install Waves Central from official site, need a valid email and to register an account. After that you can install what you need like a legit user, from the Waves app

-V.R: you can decide what to install from the package, but you have to download the whole thing anyway. Need a valid email, register an actual account and have to install Waves Centrall official app. As far as I remember, Cosmos and Studioverse dont work properly, and some other of the latest plugins (this info needs confirmation, I am not using VR's waves)

obviously there are some differences among the 3 releases, but everyone has his own taste

abbey road vinyl is very good lol

the distortion is amazin, I even use it in parallel for drums sometimes

dont wanna convince you, dont know what you have to do, but there are not many option like that. Probably iZotope has one (even free if I am not wrong) and another interesting one by PA unfiltered
