That things like 3k for 8 inputs and a bit of DSP for waves.

i'd rather go with UAD if you're dropping that money and have a better variety and sounding plug-ins

    and a grand change :P

can't say my cpu gets overloaded using Plugin Alliance stuff.

my main picks from there would be the SPL Transient Designer & Maag Eq. not much else maybe the BX Stereo maker.

but i'm lucky enough to have access to a hardware SPL transient Designer.

i'd think hard about it, i personally would choose a UAD Apollo and get more I/O and some free UAD plug ins :P

Digigrid IOS is the interface name. Nothing to do with iOS. :lmao:

I second the UAD advice if you really want an external dsp.
3k to run waves crap is insane. PA stuff is not so heavy on CPU here.
Overkill to have dsps for that stuff IMHO. UAD have some nice sounding plugs.

What might be the drawbacks of using instead of the Digigrid IOS or UAD Apollo…..just utilizing another computer after loading all your various-brand plug-ins on it, as a slave via LAN, perhaps using the functions of Vienna Symphonic's "Ensemble Pro 5," which enables a second (Windows or Mac) computer to serve your main computer's DAW with the plug-ins? Apparently this works without conflict whether or not the main computer and the slave are using the same OS.

    Hi there!
I was in between the apollo 2 and the Digigrid IOS, and I got the Digigrid.
Part of the reason is the network connectivity, you can have 4 computers connected to the same Digigrid, that alone is ridiculously powerful
And yeah they are open to have 3rd party plugin manufactures, I'm sure soon more plugs are gonna join Digigrid!
