    Hi

I was (still am) searching methods or technique to analyze orchestral music (epic, adventure ...) or else
Because i don't know music theory ( I play by ear but my ears are not very good sometimes lol ), i try to get the main things, the basics..
Anyway, i stop telling my life ... Just maybe u would like this set of video found on youtube ,on Dubspot channel

Interesting methods, like analyzing some melodies by using frequency filters
these videos are not mainly talking about converting audio to midi but they complete themselves

    Here the videos :

    Hope u appreciate them ^^

There's a couple of appps for iPad what specialise in polyphonic audio > MIDI conversion.
If you can get access to an iPad?

I can sometimes get access to an iPad, well, when I either BEG my wife for her iPad mini or else BRIBE my 6 year old son for his iPad 2! :wow:

I did have an iPhone 4s but "LENT" it to my 16 year old daughter for use ONLY in the house to chat with her pals on social media etc. That was about 8 months ago now and suffice to say I no longer own an iPhone!! :snuffy:

Oh yeah, the point of all this? You forgot to mention the name of said apps DALMATION you old spotty dog you! :dunno:

You can try slowing the audio down with CAPO (above) or Amazing SLow Downer, etc.

You can try stereo isolation techniques such as listening to center/sides , or mid/side separately .

There are also Poly-> MIDI apps for PCs like http://www.widisoft.com/

If you're transcribing instruments with 3/4 notes per chord by ear, write down the notes that you can hear, then inter/extrapolate the notes you can't hear with notes that harmonize, will usually get something close to the original.
