I would indeed be very suspicious if my boys told me that many times every day - but ok.... they´re boys

 

Don't be sorry for me,I simply don't wait after these "days" to show my love.
I'm fed up of these "days"(one for moms,one for dads,one for lovers,one for wifes,one for handicapped,one for grandmothers,one for the earth,one for peace,one for christmas,etc...!!! )And West countries have just invented these days to make some more profit,nothing more.

 

Like Wiki says, here in my country "men use this holiday as an opportunity to get drunk."
Not that we need a special reason for it, but it's a great excuse.

 

My father died about 4 years ago, we weren't very close, and I have never married nor had children, so my first hand experience is zilch.

That said, aside from all the jokes (and realities) about giving dad another bad necktie, the thing I have noticed from people around me is the kids giving dear ol' dad something that THEY want! 'Hey Dad, look at this cool RC race car we got you!!!' or 'Hey Dad we got you an annual pass to the mini-golf.'

These are real life examples.

And in these cases mom (stay at home) gave them the money, so they're just spending the money he made to do it!

People who know me well know I call these 'Hallmark Holidays.' In fact I call Valentines day 'National Hallmark Day.'
(for those from other parts of the world, Hallmark is the largest producer of (usually tacky and/or maudlin) greeting cards in the U.S.)

I celebrate one holiday. Hallowe'en. And I go ape-shit. But I build all my own stuff. No supermarket scaries for this dude!
