i got a team vr version and really messed up my computer. is it normal?

jokes aside, some more infos would be nice of you! what os, and what precisely is "messed up", for example.

 

kontakt messed up bad. i had to reinstall. and switch to portable by daw crashed a lot (im on windows) it deleted some of my applications. i had to replace files in windows/system32

Are you sure that the installer from VR deleted the files, TEAM VR is a trusted scene group, they will never release a virus.

 

they didn’t delete files they just messed up some things on pc. and after guitar rig didnt even work. it messed up right after i restarted my pc which it prompted me to do. it wasn’t restarting so i did it myself

alright ill try that. hopefully it doesn’t mess my computer up again. but are there any other guitar rig 6 cracks not by V.R

 

It is very strange that you had to replace files in Windows\system32...
What version and what is the date of the V.R you installed?

Does anyone know what actually happened to the R2R Guitar Rig 6 release on sister site? It was just removed with no reason given.
Couldn't have been DMCA since every other GR6 release was left untouched.

Your mention that it deleted some of your applications & you had to replace files in Windows\system32...
combined with your incomplete answer to my post & sloppy and incorrect way of writing...
All make me think there is USER ERROR somewhere, perhaps during the install, but i suspect your system setup has problems in general due to sloppy practices.

To avoid problems on computers, especially when setting up a DAW system with lots of dependencies, one needs to be careful and patient.
If uninstalling and reinstalling does not work, don't be too quick to blame V.R...

I did notice some comments from people with issues, but they seem to be no more than the typical few, including one saying that it needs to be installed to "C" drive, and another saying if "installed properly" it works.
I am not sure how it could be installed improperly, but I downloaded for myself and will see if i can find any issues...

I would do a system restore


And setup a system restore point (Configure button) before anytime you install a new program


It will take your computer back to the state it was in at the date selected

just search 'system restore' on your computer


anytime my computer gets messed up I just travel back in time with system restore

@yatesclay97 OK I have installed it (using Revo Uninstaller to log the registry changes). It seems to be running perfectly for me so far.

Considering the comments made and your experience, i have some other questions.
First some notes:

- Installs MS Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x64) - 14.28.29325

- Requires restart.

- No new files / Folders found in ProgramData or User AppData folders.
- Installs to C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig 6
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig 6
C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig 6 (empty folder"\crashlogs\")
and to the default VST2 location (mine=C:\64vst\Native Instruments)

1) Since it was mentioned as possible problem, did you change any of the default install locations?
(I used all defaults)
2) Did Guitar Rig actually run OK?
3) HOW did it mess up Kontakt? (I see no issues with my installed Kontakt).
4) Did you make any note (write down or make a txt) of what files you had to 'replace' in "Windows\system32", or make any notes at all when you noticed problems?
5) What was your FIRST clue that you had any problem at all?
6) Last but NOT LEAST, what is your operating system?

Sorry but that's not true. A DMCA request is done per product.
There are only a few companies who we can't post at all, due to prior agreements.
And the makers of GR are not one of those.

 

As far as I know this applies to all of the same product with the same product version though. The R2R release was 6.0.2 and it was removed, but the VR 6.0.2 release is still there. And they were both present on the site at the same time. If GR 6.0.2 got DMCA'd then the VR 6.0.2 release would've also been taken down, no?
