Im interested in getting new guitar effect VST's that have an unique sound.
When it comes to overdrive pedals im pretty stacked up but im looking for general effects in all kind of genres.
Would be nice if you guys could suggest some that can be found on sister site.

BYOD comes with two dozen or so pedals, including more exotic stuff like an octaver. It's mostly good to very good stuff, with the occasional miss.

Cytomic's The Scream is one of the most advanced VST's ever imo.
And definitely the best guitar distortion VST available.

Why just pedal VSTs? Guitar Rig Pro has tons of effects that can be stacked, reordered, filtered, etc.

Helix Native fx are good, and I also expand my sound palette via hardware (Fractal, Kemper) which is also digital. Don't overlook NAM, they have some nice drive/fuzz pedals, and another trick is to add some Nebula into the equation.

To be more specific I mean more unique effects apart from Chorus, Reverb, Delay and Compressors.
When it comes to basic distortion pedals and reverbs then im already stacked up.

Used to have an Axe FX III but switched up to digital VST's.
Much less hassle and way more convenient since I got myself a good rig for recording

Flexibility is key. I have the FX8 going into the Kemper via 4CM, but I will use anything that sounds good. I always record a DI track, so I can reamp later and experiment with sound design, or use some weird VST fx, etc. NAM pedals with Helix Native or TH-U is pretty good too.

What is your current recording rig?

I think the hardware guitar pedals are ahead of the VST pedals when it comes to innovation :)

Yeah I always thought that a lot of Companies would greatly benefit from releasing more creative pedals such as Neural DSP etc.

My usual signal chain is usually :
Strandberg Original 7 ---> Focusrite Clarett--->Cubase---> Neural DSP Fortin Gate/ Distortion ----> Neural DSP Nameless AMP ---> Bogren MLC Subzero Cab and Bogren IR's (due to their better Cab IRX technology) ----> EQ ---> Saturation with Saturn

The problem with the Kemper / Axe FX III is that you can't adjust the sound while hearing the mix.
You basically have to reamp every single time which takes much longer to dial in a tone.

If you want unique sounds I'd ditch gtr stomps and layer on stuff from Sound Toys and Eventide until it gets weird.

In digital DAW world effects don't need to look like a pedal)
And there are million of VSTs

    But I suggest Eventide H9 Plug-in Series
