A few days ago I was reminded on lullabys. I almost forgot that I created one myself for the children of a friend. The song is now 8 years old, but after hearing I thought it is just as strong as ever. I really like it still, and that is rather unusual for me. So here it is. What do you think?

    Row row row your boat
    Gently down the stream
    Merrily merrily merrily merrily
    Life is but a dream

Kinda trippy lyrics when you stop to think about it. It's time to wake up people! Wake up from your dream!

Sorry, I didn't even comment on your track. I just woke up sucking on my thumb and my bed is wet. So I guess it did the trick. However I think there's a bit too much low end for a lullaby. And those poor men don't ever stop to breathe. You gotta take care of your staff. Let them breathe every once in a while! That's just inhumane! Also I would prefer them singing at near a whisper...

@tulamide I like the almost Gregorian pads.

I like it. It's kid of Enya found a vintage drum machine in the attic, though you probs don't understand my thinking.

Wow, my own adjective! Very classy!

That feels very, very good. Thank you so much!

Wrong, I do. And I feel flattered

To everyone: Thank you for rating/commenting. Feedback is always so much appreciated, as I get insecure very quickly if feeling ignored.

@gtripodi Thank you very much! Regarding the "bell" sound: I was trying to replicate the sound of a "Spieluhr":

I think in English they are called "music box". They are very popular among very young kids, so I thought it would be appropriate. What sound would you be looking for?

if is in your idea to use this sound you should leave it ;) for my taste i will try to use a more "ambience trppy" bells, (sorry my enlish does not work so good") to understand what kind of sound i see.. listen that track

I think I understand. It makes me think about remixing this song. The orignal was intended to be heard in the evening when going to sleep (and indeed the kids loved the song and the wanted to hear it every evening for months), and therefore I intentionally used no bass (low frequencies are too creepy for kids), but for a remix I could think of serving more background for dreamy harps as in your example, or the like.

    Thank you! :)

Overall really nice track, personally I could do with a bit less of the male choir vox volume wise.

    But that said, yeah.....nice moosh

I agree. 8 years ago I was so proud of the choir and therefore brought it too much to the foreground, but nowadays it's already dated. Another argument for a remix ;)

I still really like this.. i'll just add a few comments, or personal preference thoughts...

I agree the chorus could be a little more subdued. I like the elements overall, the only other thought that occurred to me
is that the beats add some tension and sort of wake me up ( so to speak) I would not use this for real to help me sleep..
I just like it as piece of music in the genre...sorry if that sounds harsh.. not intended to be..

There's no such word in English, maybe Joyce's vocabulary,eh?

Why should I? Those are valid arguments. I like the drums because of their unusual pattern, but can understand that -on good speakers- they could counter the effect of relaxing. The kids liked it, maybe it reminded them on a slow heartbeat? However, those are all valid arguments to consider in a remix!
