GSIF drivers

    I know Tascam gigastudio used GSIF drivers. What other software uses GSIF. And what's the benefit?

    Currently Garritan owns the Nemesys/Tascam gigastudio heritage... I wonder if they dropped the whole GSIF stuff...

    GSIF drivers were good back in the day of much slower computers for delivering good performance for Gigastudio. Nowadays, they're not really necessary.

    The way Kontakt does DFD ( direct From Disk)is quite efficient.

    As far as I know, no other software requires GSIF. It was buggy and some people had terrible problems with GSIF drivers, BSODs,interfering with other apps,etc.GSIF was the reason I didnt bother with Gigastudio and instead jumped on the Kontakt bus.
