Whats your process to check if your song sounds better in all other 11 keys (12 with the one you already doing)

also if for example your song is in C major....do you also check the minor keys? or it doesnt work like that? you only check the other 11 major keys......


is it just pitch everything up/down 1 semitone (except drums) 11 times? and checking each time if it sounds better?

do you find yourself checking this or you don't bother?

no why would i bother, if you're talking about transposing the WHOLE song.
a key change, that's a different thing.
now people say the keys have different feelings etc. but i've never noticed that. usually i choose the key based on the bass (if it sounds good at that certain key, sometimes it feels too high or too low) or just whatever random note i hit on the keyboard first

 

i thought it sounded good but i checked another older project file i had in different key and sounds better now i need to change it
