    Hi,
Im curious as to which DAWs have this feature. The ability to extract a groove map from a sample and apply the extracted groove as a quantize map to other samples.
I know Ableton can do this quite efficiently. (I actually have a lib of 3rd party grooves, and use the MPC swing grooves)
I also know that Reaper can do this to with the SWS extensions.

What other hosts have this great feature, if not all? And how easy/efficient is it to do?

    In Cubase:

    -Select the "Hitpoints" panel
-Set the general value to start with.
    -Highlight the "Edit Hitpoints" button.
-Adjust the sensitivity slider until some of the drum transients start to get hitpoints on them, like Kick/Snare/Stick etc.
-When you're satisfied with the positioning click "Make Groove" to send that groove to the quantize menu.
-Now You can apply this quantize to all parts/midi

If you use Stylus RMX ( have more grooves ), FXpansion GURU and GEIST. You can drop a MIDI to the project and use/import the part/midi to groove too.

    cheers

hm.. you can adjust how sensitive it is? With a live visual representation picking up the transients of the sample? That sounds nice.

    Thank you for the info.
