I have unusable delays inside Ableton using Kirchhoff and Arturia, where actions like adding an EQ point can take minutes to respond. If I close the graphics things will flow ok again.

Sometimes I get the stall without any graphics open, so I'm not sure if this is the cause. Its mostly with certain plugins, like they need extra GPU power maybe.

It feels like Ableton Index might be involved somehow, if I've gone through my links and its running in the background.

I installed the bare bones graphics for my AMD X570 Graphics Card, so no Adrenalin Software. Is anybody using that and getting issues. Typical theory is to not install this kind of thing, but I'm wondering if it hampers plugins like Arturia and maybe this is a graphics issue?

In Task Manager I have GPU 0 - 3D open alongside Ableton under "GPU engine". The only other apps using that are Desktop Window Manager and Client Server Runtime Process.

Any ideas how to fix these delays?

I'm also running VST2 for minimal apps that aren't VST3 yet and I've found big issues like this before. I removed everything VST2 for better stability in Ableton. I can't remember if I got these delays without but that could also be the issue. [Edit: I've ruled this out. Disabling made no difference]

This might be useful to anyone having similar issues...

Installing the latest Adrenaline seems to allow me to use Kirchhoff now in real time.

I was getting System using 40% GPU whilst it was frozen, so although this flies in the face of everything that we're usually told, to disable these AMD/Nvidia apps, they might be essential for some plugins...

Still early days though, it might still be crap
