Now serious. Roughly:

1983. My cousin gets an Spectrum

1984. Commodore 64 -> yeah, the SID master. 2 voices
I fell in love seeing a demo in the shop of "The way of the exploding fist" (karate fight game with badly but sampled screams/sounds). I think International Karate was inspired in it.

1988. Commodore Amiga 500 (besides gaming I played with AmigaBASIC) -> 4 voices and first modules (that I didn't know at the time)

1992. PC: forced by "the standard" used by college pals. Sucked so big time for games compared to an ancient Amiga... But it started my geek side. I only played hard one of the best "Heroes Of Might And Magic" in the MSDOS/Win95 days.

Honorable mentions:
One friend gets the Super Nintendo with the mythical "Street Fighter II" pack. A game my friends crew we all have been playing day after day until few months before in the arcades.
Literally 32h without sleeping lol

I've had a sega master system with a few games (shinobi is the one I've played the most).
Some years later I bought a PC and never touch a console ever since...
I've played mostly RPG and strategy game, but some shooters too, since I began to make music I don't play much...
ATM I must finish "Divine Divinity 1: Original sin" and "Pillar of Eternity"

Some of my favourites : Heroes of might & magic (until 3), Hitman, Fallout (1,2 & New Vegas), GTA, Civi (until 4), Baldur's gate, Planescape, half-life, Elder Scrolls, Master of Orion, Warcraft, Endless Space...

No, but they did make a Playstation version. I started out on DOS. Had (actually still have in a closet) a dual 3dfx Voodoo 2 setup which was IT for that game in those days. 3 video cards rendering 1 screen. Also fiddled with Descents clone 'Forsaken.'

I've been following the development of Overload since it's earliest days though I doubt I'll be able to play it. The more photo-realistic games have gotten the less I can play. I get (for lack of a better term) motion sickness! First noticed with Descent 3. Last game I bought ages ago was 'Painkiller'. Loved its creepy, sick, twisted vibe, but gave me headaches, dizziness, sweats and more.

Hey if I want that I can take the wrong 'recreational substances.'

I love roller-coasters. Can ride 'em all day, BUT if I go to a site and play the POV videos, after a few I am toast.

Bummer.

I'll at least look at Overload though. It just released on May 31. It was cracked the same day.

early 70's sir... 73 or 74 ?

 

Pong was the first one. Then we got a Commodore Vic-20 which I played a few games on (Ladybug, chess, etc.) but mostly I learned programming. First Basic, then Assembly. Finally got tired of converting opcodes to hex, then to decimal, then plugging into data statements so I wrote my own compiler.
Later got and Amiga 500, 2000, and a laptop made by Wang (x86).
Games I currently play include Total Annihilation (PC), Star Trek Armada (PC), and Battlefront II (X Box).
Haven't really felt like learning a new game.

 

On PC:
Assassin's Creed Origins and working my way through the Curse of the Pharaohs DLC. Awesome.
Just finished Far Cry 5, also brilliant. Working backwards in the series so now I started Far Cry Primal, and after that I will start Far Cry 4 etc

Also the ones I never stop playing, Skyrim and Fallout 4.

On PS4:
Horizon Zero Dawn
Last of Us

Have a backlog of hundreds of games waiting for me, yikes.

I also started with Commodore 64, but I never stopped

Games are not really "games" anymore but more like virtual worlds where you can escape to
