I have a couple of desktop racks that house my synthesisers and have a 2U gap going spare. Any recommendations for useful units that would fill this space and serve an useful function?

  3. A 15A 8-way Mains breaker with lighted switches and a Behringer half normal 24 channel patch bay. 1U each.

The most important piece of information is missing: What is the budget?

Power conditioner is always a good purchase if you don't have one.

Already got two 8 or 10 way (can’t remember!) power conditioners from Furman and Samson and two 48 point patch bays :)

Not sure really. Depends what the item is. I’m all for cheap and useful though and was eyeing up the American Audio dB meter, but can’t find much reviews etc about it.

I was thinking an RTA may provide some useful eye candy and fill a gap, but they seem silly expensive for what they do!

I would not recommend the AA dbMeter to anyone if it is going to be used as a true reference meter. If it is going to be used as eye-candy it can be so, however it will become such a distraction without any useful purpose that you will end up truning it off and regretting spending your money on it. Do you own a hardware sampler? There are some nice units and cheap units that will fit in that space and will be useful for the style of music you produce.
