I've just had a second major malfunction within months of the previous one. 17 forced updates in 8 hours, logon profiles trashed, audio apps trashed, torrents trashed, no history of anything, can't save anything.

This OS is not fit for purpose. It worked great a few times but it is not a professional tool that can be relied upon. You are always at the mercy of forced MS updates that are not properly tested.

You should've checked defer updates option. It delays the feature updates for several months.

Sorry to hear of your woes... though If you use windows 10 for music production, its best to keep it offline.

I've been using an offline Windows 10 for production since January, and it's been perfect... so far.

I've just been testing it to see if it is a viable OS  My main computer is Windows 7 :)

Been using from day one with various audio software (new and old) and variety of audio hardware on multiple devices and not a single issue with any updates. Never had to reinstall on any device and as fast as when it was first installed been using everyday. Way better than Windows 7 and 8.

That was my opinion also, except for the two times that it majorly f*cked up due to updates. So now it's no more playing Russian Roulette for me until they get their act together.

I've had 2 issues that required format but one of them was my av not properly optimized for win10 and screwing my computer. Updates haven't been that much of a issue lately but I've issues with them last year so yeah, it's definitely not a reliable OS. But I'll give them that: it's improving. Used to have way much trouble with it, now I've been problem-free since the last format.

I don't think keeping windows 10 offline is a good idea because windows 10 is not super stable yet and you need to update it regularly. A lot have improved during last year. But it will take more years to become rock solid like win 7. I am not having any problem on windows 10 and now I am used to it and love it.:grooves:

I dunno man... I do extremely intensive Graphic, 3D rendering, video and audio production and over past year or so i have literally had ZERO issues with any of these things..

Far and away the best OS I have used, and Ive used em all.

One would have to pry 10 from my cold dead, drunken carpal tuneled hands. :hillbilly:

Unfortunately Microsoft don't send out any warnings before an "event" occurs :)

This whole 'stay offline' thing is bogus.

Once i setup win7, then it was upgraded to win8, then win 8.1, now it's win10 (all upgrades installed). Never had any problems here on both amd and intel setup. Literally have no idea how to kill win10. It works just perfect. Games, audio, video all just fine. Can't wait august 2nd for the redstone update. Extended edge with adblock is really exciting. I love win10.
