I love to hear the good news and am happy for the people of Taiwan.
It is a great example of how to deal with the disease and it should give hope to all those who are still far from a solution of the problems.
The important thing is to stick together and common sense.
Here in Germany all sides are behaving rather counterproductively. The government imposes partly nonsensical conditions, part of the citizens refuse to take even the obviously necessary measures.
We can learn from the people in Taiwan, otherwise things will get much worse.

Oh, this is because it is not a beauty contest for statistics.
No question, we are among the best of the bad. Statistically but I doubt that this is a comfort to those who are seriously ill or have died.
But there are much better (not relatively but absolutely) examples worldwide, such as ... Taiwan. They e.g. took the SARS epidemic of 2002 much more seriously there than here in Germany.

P.S.: The sentence should perhaps have read: "So far in Central Europe Germany has the best statistics". The way it was written I thought you claimed all Central Europe did very well.
P.P.S.: It seems Germany never took e.g. SARS (=Covid 1) epidemia from 2002 serioulsly. There is a "National pandemic plan" but in it's newest version from 2017 it reduces pandemic to influenca as if the were no other dangers possible.
