Freeze is the best as you can undo multiple steps. Step one is always freeze the VST instruments before adding Nebula/AA.

 

I don't know if it helps but here is my workflow. I mostly use Nebula but also some AA. I use templates setup for tracking and mixing with all plugin instances set to Offline (no cpu). I bring them online as I need them, and then freeze the track which takes them offline again. I use Blue Cat Patchwork to organise my setups. I use multiple Group Busses with full console emulation, and I tend to Nebulize one Group Bus at a time starting with complementary instrument sounds, e.g. guitars. Everything is fast and smooth and I am only using a laptop, but some kind of workflow is essential when working with Nebula and AA.

PS Reaper has great freeze and undo functionality!

I was able to connect to my PC laptop and mac pro with a lan cable. Was not able to connect to my mac mini which would be great.
Other than that this a awesome going so far.
