    Hi
It sounds probably as a stupid question for those already accustomed to Gig Performer, but I cant find the way to understand how do you separate songs parts / sounds to be able to change then using a program change... And I dont have time to look at a 1 hour video just to find this out.

May be I need to understand their terminology ...

I already found how to create racks with vsti and so...

Thanks in advance for your help.

Well, you deserve it, as I found the answer with the first link.

No PMs.. it seems there is not much people using this program here.

BTW: witch version are you using? I'm actually using v 3 from R2R, did you tried v4 from MORiA?

Yes. Apologies. Should have spelled out custOMER not some kind of modded, liberated or custOM ver.

I was wondering, does Gig Performer or alternative software (not a DAW) have the ability to load a set list of audio files with the capability of automatically sending program change messages to, say, Guitar Rig and such at different parts of the song? I would very much appreciate this kind of software.

Have a look at the the first link above at top of thread. I believe that discusses what I sounds like you want to do as well.
Another thing to have a look at is Soundigy MIDI Lab for all things MIDI. Like some of the other 'non DAW' hosts, you can script (you don't need to be a programmer :)) a tweak using the expression toolkit. I guess based on your question, you are guitar player looking to have some 'filler' to use on demand. I know, I know, I must be psychic :) And no, I do not play the guitar.

I am indeed a guitarist. I did look at the first link but it doesn't seem like it does what I'm looking for.

I imagine something that looks like a DAW but is actually just a VST host with audio player built in. Each track can load a backing track and the user can place program control change points along each track's timeline - in order to, say, change a guitar patch from clean to distorted (VST presets usually).

I know this can be achieved with a DAW, maybe with Reaper, but dedicated software would probably offer more options as an audio player. Also, with a DAW it would probably be necessary to add a song to each track in a linear fashion so the timeline would be very long and harder to work with (I know it is, I've done this several years ago in Reaper, Ableton and Studio One).

These standalone-VST hosts would be the perfect starting place, they seem to do most of what is needed already with individual song setups, if only they had a timeline for each song too.

As far as I've looked into got preformer, I have not seen a function like this.
But I don't have much experience yet.

Ah, gotcha. Then the only other host I heard of that 'may' be geared towards something like that is Camelot, and I have zero knowledge or experience with it other than watching a 5 minute video.

    Customer here, too. :)

Yes, only Camelot supports the timeline at this point. I hope that Gig Performer devs will implement this, as well.

However, if you can find the MIDI track for your song, their MIDI File Player can send out PC messages.
