Probably a good thing. Roland destroyed Sonar, just like Yamaha is in the process of doing to Cubase. Hopefully there will still be a Z3ta 3. Sonar might be a mess but those Cakewalk synths are good.

Being a long time user of Sonar, transition to X1 then X2 was not an easy thing as everything deeply changed.
As a consumer, I hope this new direction to come won't affect the product for the worse (again) but simply improve it.

Also hope Gibson, by the way of Tascam, won't use a crappy protection scheme.
Current version is simple to install which is a good thing.
Let's also hope, Gibson won't apply the same price range as they do with their guitars... An expensive politic.

Hoping for better support for my tascam us-1800 interface (hahaha yeah right). Mono inputs show up as a stereo L/R instead of 1/2... Works fine and everything, just annoying on a personal level...

+1 on the hopes that this will not have a negative impact on pricing or installer hoops.

SONAR X3 is available now, too.
With many cool things, like VST3, Addictive Drums, and direct Melodyne integration (just like in Studio One). I believe this one's still under Roland's management.
