Hello everyone and an early Happy New Year.

I am working on replicated an audio file using various FL Studio generators and effects. In order to sync everything as closely as possible to the audio, I would like to see how my patterns or different channels in each patter play against the audio file. The best way for me to visualise this would be to have the audio file ghosted in the piano roll as another channel is displayed (beats I am adding, for example). But I can't find a way to do this. I can ghost other channels that have step sequencer entries, of course, but the main audio channel by definition does not have any and the wav file itself is not available.

Is there any way I can overlay the waveform of the audio with other channel data?

    Thank you for your answers.

    All the best.

In fl you can only view ghost notes from the same pattern you're currently on. Ghost notes across all patterns still a long running feature request but still no. You can check background waveform, but most likely it wont help you.

    Thanks Daniel.

I thought they were on the same pattern. In fact, I only have one pattern as it stands. But activating background waveform does not seem to do anything. I wonder what it's for, then. I am off to read more about it. I did not know about that feature so thanks a lot for your comments.

Ah hang on. I got it. Audio files dragged on to the playlist integrate a channel and play but do not generate bacground waveforms in the piano roll. Dragging the same file into the piano roll does display the waveform but the file does not integrate a channel/pattern or the playlist.
