    Geoff Emerick, Beloved Beatles Engineer, Dead at 72
    ​
    Geoff Emerick, the audio engineer who worked on several Beatles classics including Sgt. Pepper’s and Abbey Road, died Tuesday. Emerick’s agent, David Maida, confirmed the engineer’s death to Rolling Stone, adding that the cause of death was a heart attack. He was 72.

    Sgt Pepper have such a surprising sound for the time ..

    Oh dear. His biography is a great read if you want to know about engineering in the pre digital age. My childhood heroes are vanishing.

    Martin was often called the fifth Beatles but no doubt Emerick was the sixth one. Revolver was the first record where I heard about him.

    What a great picture. Sadly none of them is with us anymore. Probably one of the very last pictures of Epstein alive.
