    Yeah
Nah! OK Computer is better...I've listened to all 4 [including moon-shaped pool & all these are some of the best albums, it's just nit-picking ranking them by now...moon being quite weak in comparison though] 100s of times. I have returned to OK Computer being the best as my taste evolved. It has not one bad track on the other hand Kid A has 2 starting tracks & Treefingers; In Rainbows' 15 Steps & Videotape [no matter the syncopation you notice] is weak in comparison to Electioneering or How to Disappear Completely.

It reminds of this meme but for radiohead.

So does Eminem & most people don't even listen to anything even 5-years prior let alone wagner. That's just a dumb argument. I just don't find myself listenin' to flyod anymore. I have better things that fill their gap or even overshadow them.

Ok lets say you only care about music and you don't consider rap music.

I like to take into consideration the context of the creation. Floyd was made much before, in a time where music like nowadays didn't exist yet. Much of the songs we hear, wouldn't be like they are if pink floyd never existed. the direct influence it had in bands is huge, but the indirect influence is even bigger

is like comparing a bodybuilder before steroids exists with a bodybuilder after steroids exist.
or a soccer player from 50 years ago with nowadays... its a whole different game

I like every single song that Radiohead ever put out as well as each individual in the band's side projects.

Yeah, but you could've at least mentioned MF Doom or Kendrick. Beatles were far more experimental than floyd. Also, who cares about Sports, It's not artistic. Intolerance & Battleship Potemkin is far better than anything came in the last 2 decades [expect wong-kar wai & the The White ribbon & some other 2 or 3]. Bible has more literary value than any book in this century. I find myself just reading Tolstoy & Shakespeare & not one novel from this century [expect wallace]. Art doesn't age at all.

Don't take this the wrong way, but damn you have a pompous mentality about all of this. I suppose I did too when I was quite younger. I'm 35 now and I've been HUNGRY for music my entire life really, and still am. Just looked the stats of my music library on my computer and it has 8,000+ artists, and I consider it to be pretty pared-down. There's simply no way you've heard 'almost everything.' Respect to you for being hungry for it, but there's a beauty to this shit when you're humble and realize how big the world of music actually is, and how you'll just simply not ever hear everything out there. You'll realize it eventually I think. Again, I think I was the same way.

Nah, I mean it. I know there are million albums but one there's hardly 100 in them that's good. We only remember Cervantes & Shakespeare from Renaissance [there'd be 1000s of books the critics or people at that time would have considered great]. It all just fades with time. I think 100 is too great a number for albums that's gonna last. I have no FOMO at all by this point. It's been months since I heard something new that's good. I just keep returning to those 100 albums and find something good. As Flaubert said, one need only one novel in life.

Try ゆらめきin the air from 男たちの別れ a listen. I find myself listening to fishmans a lot than modern other stuff. In Literary terms i'd call floyd period pieces [The doors probably for me will take the same place sadly].

This is exactly how the institutions think... and why real classics pass them by, until they retroactively accept them 10,20,30+ years later. This is the mentality that upholds racism, classism, etc passively in art of all forms. You're dead wrong.

That's just retarded:rofl:. I find myself on the fence with modern institutions in most cases. I believe in things being good themselves by themselves [platonically speaking]. What Institution you're talking about...I am in a 3rd world who never even went to senior-high, learned english from video-games. I have no word other than divine to the feeling that is evoked in me by good art. There's nothing political about having a taste. I just followed that divine feeling.

i have to disagree. in my mind art is constantly ageing and changing.
if compare stanley kubrik with christopher nolan, i like to take into account how stanley kubrik made his movies while christopher was still a kid
one of the reasons being because those modern special effects are very eye candy, and older special effects didn't age well.

So i guess we can agree in disagree ;)
gonna listen to your japanese song now

Kubrick has 8-9 Masterpieces...Nolan has 1...Dunkirk [I don't care about Memento's logic or ingeniousness]. Film to me is to Eyes what music is to Ears. I don't care about story or score. Just give me greatness in vision. Like Ozu, Tarkovsky, etc.
