If you've ever wondered how to modify audio signals before they enter an aux channel for parallel processing—regardless of your channel or subgroup configurations, here's the set up of the signal flow in Logic Pro:

Use case example: if you'd like to send the signals of three audio channels to one parallel process to manipulate them all synchronously (to save time or glue them together or both), but you want to hi-pass one of these signals, switch polarity on the 2nd and lo-pass the 3rd - but you dont want to change the sound adjustments that you already did to your channels AND avoid to apply hi-pass, polarity switch and lo-pass to all of them at once - you need bus inserts.

Here's how to solve this dilemma: create 3 new buses in the MIDI-environment (find it via option-click on the "Window"-menu or simply use Cmd-0) - subsequently these 3 buses will pop-up as objects in the mixer panel (usually buses are hidden there).
Now put your desired plugins into the insert-slots of these 3 buses. Set the output of all 3 busses to a 4rth bus. That one will finally serve as an input for your Aux-channel to blend in any parallel process that you consider useful.
