A while ago now I sent an old user, Martel, a song very late at night to see if he would critique the mix for me. I got a kinda drunken response back saying he loved it and wanted to help me fix it up and then put it out. I him later I didn't hold him to anything because he was drunk but he said to send him the stems and redone vocals anyway.

Guys I tried, a lot, to sing it decently but it was SO BAD. LOL. It's not even a hard song to sing and i fucking made it in the first place, but man i sent some of the worst takes ever to him. It was so bad I never heard back and I don't think he's posted on the forum since LMAO.

Anyway, this is a song I wrote like 5 years ago at this point and its been erased or partially erased like 4 or 5 times. I keep remaking it though cause I like it, and a few days ago I found a backup (with all sorts of missing plugins and stems) so I redid all the vocals and replaced the missing plugins with new serum 2 stuff and here it is.

The vocal is fine. We just hate hearing ourselves on tape because we're not used to it. One of the best advice I heard for that is: record yourself everyday, listen to yourself everyday. Not only will you get to know yourself better (your vocal weaknesses and strengths), but most of all you will get used to it and learn to accept and love yourself a bit more.

Congratulations on the track! Very moody, I can feel the haze.

 

Oh this wasn't the vocal I sent to Martel they were objectively terrible and got worse every take hahahaha. These recent ones turned out ok I might tweak the mix on this but whatever, just for me and for sharing here.
