    Hey there.
I just just switched from Cubase/S1 to Ableton. (Windows)
It´s like i have to learn walking again. Complete different.
I watched the basics, so that I know how to do stuff.

But i always loose the focus, because everything is so small and tiny and glitchy. Sometimes i get angry :D
So, i zoomed the programm to 140% on a 24" TFT. Now i see everything better, but It´s still so small
    I´m on the arranger screen.

Now we go in the details. When i click on a pattern it starts playing from there. Cool
But when i´m im loop mode and i want to drag some pattern, it leaves the loop and plays from the marked pattern. --) LOST FOCUS. I am at a complete different place in the project.
And there are many more annoying little things.
Moving pattern. When they are not completly marked (which is hard, cause everything is so small) they got cut.
The follow song function disables itself.

Is anyone here, who switched from a linear DAW like cubase or Logic or S1 to ABleton and can give me some tips, how i can work better with this DAW?

    - I would like to jump to markers or to the loop with the number buttons
    - I would zoom without using the right hand. It´s a complete workflow killer, because i have to leave the mouse.
I know there is some software which can Remap Keys. So maybe i can zoom with other keys.
Does anyone know a good software which can remap only for ableton?

I hope you can give me some basic tips, how to survive this :D

    Thanks :)

Jump to markers with number buttons:-

    1. Create Markers.
    2. Click on 'KEY' at the top right.
    3. Select a marker and click on no. key you want to assign.
    4. Repeat above step for all the markers.
    5. Click again on 'KEY' to exit.

I only zoom with mouse by dragging down the 'Beat Time Ruler'.

Keep Using Cubase.. Rewire Abelton to Cubase. Learn to use Abelton on the go until you figured out the adjustments...
I Use Cubase (Primary DAW) and I rewire Ableton 9.6 and Reason 7. Your gong to lose a lot of good time trying to learn a DAW from Scratch...

Ableton has some cool features but when you are used to arranging in cubase you will never accept the messy looking ableton arranger page.

    I agree with

re-wire to get the best of both worlds. or bounce out your loops etc

Make the song 80% in Session View, then simply move the scenes or record it to Arrangement. It will be more easier, I think

Hey friends. Thanks for the tips.
Tomorrow i will try the marker settings. Thanks :)

I tried to much stuff. In the last months i tested every DAW, i even boght Cubase Artist, because i thought : Thats it
From arrangement and look, StudioOne and Cubase are the best.
But i´m so happy with the sound in ableton, the built in Reverb and compressor and sidechain work on the fly.

Maybe i try rewire Ableton to S1.

I tested SharpKeys to rebind the keys. It works. But i can´t use some letters anymore :D
But its more easer to work with thge left hand on the keys and the right hand on the mouse. I got a little from my workflow back.

On Mac you can rebind Keys per application. For WIN i didn´t find such a tool.

    Trial and Error...

    Greetings
