Behind every track there's a story and this was no different but something about this one needed telling. As many of you know Frito Zanzibar is a member of both AudioSex and AudioZ and he was there in the beginning with me laying the groundwork for my first project Transmissions and other endeavors. Due to some difficult circumstances he became homeless around the time I was just making my way around here in my new role. Since he was such an amazing person and I empathized with his plight we became good friends and he would send me messages whenever he could and I would check in to see how things were on his end. During these conversations and his time on our forums his music writing exploded and he sent me a lot of his amazing songs. I even encouraged him to submit a track for the AudioSexed album, this track. He wrote it during this incredibly painful experience and when I first gave it a listen I thought it was truly excellent even surprised that somehow I could still hear that he wasn't yet done with dreaming. I connected with it on a deep level first feeling his pain and then the next minute I was jazzed and it ended on a real feelgood vibe. I've actually been holding on to this one for at least half a year and am the only one to have heard it. He was supposed to submit it himself but unfortunately he was missing in action for a while now and even though I've written repeatedly I've received no answer as of yet. It would truly be upsetting to not include it on the album because if there is anyone that is the epitome of AudioSex it's him, the subject of the song is perfect and for nobody to hear what he struggled so hard to create is truly a crime. His struggle is the embodiment of our struggle and so I am truly honored to at long last present to you Starve To Death:

The last contact I had with him was reassuring because it seemed that his luck was finally turning for the better and I hope that wherever he is that he's in a good place and will one day return back to the VIP lounge on Planet AudioSex. It would really be something if one day you will read this thread while relaxing in your house with your wife and your song streaming on AudioSex Radio across the planet my friend. That would be the day...I'll be here waiting with a cold one.

It's an amazing track and it's so much better in lossless format. Many a day I've been playing this one and it gets me every time, it's not even a song it's a fucking journey through the depth of human experience. I love the unique arrangement and his slick transitioning from one section to the next. There's actually some similarity to The Orb on some sections which is impressive to say the least. He also wrote an Industrial track about my "combustible personality" called Burn The System and there's a part in it that is sick and I felt that he really captured me...I was blown away. Great stuff, amazing artist. :blues: :boombox:  :grooves: :break:

    what a great post.
Really enjoyed the track and story behind it, I hope he is ok. I. It reminds me of FSOL/ORB and then goes off with a nice piece of chilled hiphop.
I like tracks that evolve like this one

Really glad you enjoyed it. I had it on repeat many a day, he manages to seamlessly capture so many different emotions. It's really a cathartic journey and one that had to be shared with the world. I got that FSOL/Orb vibe myself especially once it gets all jazzy. Simply sublime. :grooves:

  12. I think it is a fantastic track, and as is with all great art, takes one on a journey of discovery and lets one look in many directions at once. I hope the man is doing well. Peace out Frito.

Excellent! Very different from a lot of the run-of-the-mill stuff out there. This is a very important and seldom addressed subject. I have personally known many people that have at some time in their lives become homeless. Very rough, and very little empathy is felt for these people. This is a great contribution!

Oh and mattmckay, I got the Zappa thing too lol (right before the chill "walking in the forest and it's magical" type part).

You're absolutely right, there's such a social stigma surrounding the homeless it really speaks about us as a species. America the beautiful: many states don't have aid for children much less adults. Too many people fall through the cracks even while loved ones either choose to do nothing or simply can't.

A little Industrial IDM infusion for the moment:

All is not lost though, I was actually contacted by someone that wanted to help shortly after making this post. That's AudioSex for you. :mates:
So long as some of us still keep these things in mind there is hope.

Great experimental stuff. I like that he doesn't try to fit in some specific genre but just goes wherever his inspiration takes him. :grooves:

Frito is one of those guys that just seems to have an abundance of natural talent and creativity, plus a great sense of humor.
I really hope things turn out good and we'll hear from him soon again.
