For me in this image she is unable to move without him noticing, looking at you, crying tears of blood, trapped in her love for him... reminds me of the all dark and sad histories behind every Yokai/Onryo talles (from which this artist I'm sure she inspires from) that usually involves women suffering abuse from their husbands until death and then becoming pain inflictors upon the living themselves. So I started to wonder how a nowadays Onryo would be, which histories she would be based on, leaning into the ones of the intelligent and strong women that stayed with her abuser because of some twisted savior complex until they realized it and flee or end dead at his hands.

“I thought I would be the strong one who would never leave him and show him loyalty. I would fix him and teach him love.”

These are actual phrases from domestic violence survivors.
I've made this thinking on the ones didn't do it.

@Demloc : oh okay yo, that was pretty cool, the A.I. video really elevates it. seeing it morph and change; very surrealist and entertaining to watch and had some nice imagery. like when the blood around her eyes became her makeup, idk if that was intentional on your part but thats a beautiful idea if so imo

i do kind of wish it expressed more of the message you got from it, theres a lot of movement which seems like the opposite of what you got from the image, especially for someone who didnt make it out of what felt like a trap and place they couldnt leave. idk how hard it is to get the program to be that specific though or how much time that takes

i like what you presented here regardless and how you saw the picture, the Ju-On type concept on the Yokai works here and was a creative interpretation. great job and definitely a fresh entry here its its execution that i enjoyed

 

Hey @Grape Ape glad you like it! it was intentional, as the history I'm telling are from women that don't leave their abusers willinly. They are trapped by choice, thinking that they would save them, in a cage of roses built by themselves. They put their lives in the line as they see themselves as the heroines of their twisted histories. I got more "scary" "trapped" gens that I could have used to give the tone you are mentioning but I decided to go this more ambiguos way.

@Demloc : well i wasnt thinking more scary in what i mentioned (though horror films are my favorite so im all for it), more on the lines of: the energy and movement of the piece, its very busy, musically and how it transitions between the different frames; which reading your original thoughts, it seemed kind of opposite to me, its very fast paced. like you know how like, when you cant sleep and you just keep moving around, unable to find a comfortable position. where from everything youve said it seems like she found her position and wasnt trying to move if that makes sense

but yo thats just how i saw it though, you didnt have to go any other than where you wanted to go. just wanted to mention that incase it was useful for you in regards to translation, since i see you got the skills to do it. thanks for sharing with us

 

Yes, I'll definitely wait for the moment, playing the guitar thinking: this is it!
I already played different models different times the last few month, until now there was no "I'm 100% sure" moment. But I'm not in a hurry... right now this is quite an investment for me. I have two electric guitars I really love, but my acoustics are just okay. I'm having fun playing them, but I'm looking for an instrument with no compromises. A very good guitar never gets old in my opinion.
Nowadays it is a lot easier for me to decide which guitar feels just right to me. I wasn't able to make a precise choice the first almost ten years of playing. Sure, I recognized differences between the guitars, but today with a lot of experience I can tell you right away if a guitar suits me.

I am lucky there is a big music store right around the corner from where I'm living. The sales advice there is a joke though. When I bought my Duesenberg I loved the one I was playing in the store. I asked one of the employees if it is possible to have another of this model from the stock, for comparison and to make a choice. He thought it was a weird request and was somehow in disbelief when I told him later, that I wanted to stick to the one from the show room, despite being obviously more used than the stock one. At least they have many guitars over there. I will definitely check out the D-18 again.

@Lois Lane i love it, another masterpiece of storytelling brother. A dark theme, but can't help but laugh at the humour of your lyrics.. The track sounds already complete to my ears as is; love the panning, the layering, the subtle details in your cymbals and your now traditional little bongos. But if you decide to go even further one day, i'd love to hear it :D !!

@Demloc excellent combination of video and music, very well made ! While less "trappy" and a bit more "gorey", the track reminded me of some wave music i would listen years back. Very cool atmosphere and saturation. And the video... am amazed at the way AI can help birth ideas or visuals one may have in its head !! Can't really wrap my head around how you can do that tho :p.
