Powerful sample workstation for VST and AU - for free!
With the "Zampler" Beat brings a professional sample Workstation for Windows and OS X on the market that can easily compete in terms of sound and features with the major industry players.

    Inner values

The plug-in for VST and AU interface available and enthusiastic with a well thought out features. In addition to SRC-enabled sample oscillators provides the Zampler shaping a sound at its best: the integrated multi-mode filters are the types of lowpass, highpass, bandpass and bandstop filters as well as various combinations thereof to choose from. And three LFOs, three ADSR envelope and a complex modulation matrix to bring some life into the sounds. rounded out the functionality is refined through an extensive effects section in the tube saturation, two equalizers, phaser, chorus, delay and reverb all sound. Thanks the clever step-sequencer is very complex, full and vibrant sounds of a specialty Zamplers. Finally, under the hood, the famous potter valued algorithms of "Dune" inventor Synapse Audio.

Save your own presets and sound banks

Presets and sound banks contain samples of Zampler remember, but merely the location of use. Sfz files. Of course, you can copy your sounds and still pass. For each algorithm should be. Sfz files are in the same folder as the. Fxp file. At the sound banks have. Sfz files are located in a subfolder that has the same name as the. FXB file itself. Name the sound bank, for example, "soundbank.fxb", the. Sfz files in a folder to be found "sound bank". You may also be geared to our demo sound bank.

    The SFZ format

The SFZ format is defined as a collection of samples (so-called "sound library" or "sample library") is arranged to be played. The SFZ format is free, simple, minimalist and extensible. Flexibility and quality are the hallmarks of this format.

The features supported by the Zampler the SFZ format:
Samples of any bit depth (8/16/24/32-bit), mono or stereo
    Samples with each sample rate (eg, 44.1k, 48k, 88.2k, 96k, 176.4k, 192k, 384k)
    Up to 128 keyboard splits
    Up to 128 velocity splits

    SFZ files

In the SFZ files are multi-samples that are similar in simple text files with a syntax of the XML arranged. Since for SFZ files so far no editor available with a user interface, we recommend a simple text editor. For any given sample, there is a separate "region" defined, is played in which notes and velocities from the sample and what the pitch of the sample actually.

SFZ is GREAT file format, and so easy to use. I ♥ it! Once you make a template on your own, or rather a few templates, you just edit it in Notepad, fill in with the names of samples, save, and off you go... It's rather powerful. All of the samplers and synths I use can load SFZ. It's quite powerful for creating wavetables, oscillators...

However, for SFZ Sampler I would much rather suggest discoDSP Highlife. It's open source, if you download it from SourceForge, not from the discoDSP website and quite a bit better than Zampler. It could be used for creating great SFZ files easily, too, if you're not so keen on editing SFZ files by hand. ;)

    Cheers!

What about Aria and Cakewalk DropZone?
I like DropZone very much. Small, top-notch sound quality and easy to use.
I believe it was even included in a free version of some "lower end" production software from Cakewalk. The dll runs in other DAWs just fine, and it's written by the original developer of SFZ, the minimalistic GUI but powerful go-to sampler for SFZ files many years ago.
