I believe Andrew is on the money as there is no place like AudioSEX, which I cherish and embrace and am thankful for on a daily basis. I belong to a few other forums but they are more geared to hardware capture and are populated by some amazing and helpful veterans of the industry. The wealth of information shared is testament to the years of working in the heyday of the big and well known recording studios of yesteryear. These guys have engineered and produced tons of the heavyweights and have a knowledge base which is vast. The stories that they at times relate to the members of the forums are both informative and educational to me. But yes, AS is great at what it does and we are lucky to be living at a time where places like this site can prosper and be accessed by so many looking to better themselves on their personal musical journeys.

and really, there is no other forum like audiosex. Where else can you find such a crazy mix of deluded monkeys like us? We've literally become quite a tight knit community of regular members who have gotten to know each other quite well on here. And we accept more regulars into our community.

Hmmm, I wonder then, from the time of Bill Clinton and his cigar wetting till now, the Executive Board/MBA/Business school paradigm over control/access of information has taken hold.

So, are you guys saying, we're living in a modern dark ages, where, pretty much all information of value, i.e., anything above intermediate, is gilded and excluded from public discussion? I've found this to be the case in CGI as what seems parallel to music production, to even the modding community for modern games (I could never get a good explanation how a collection of meshes were put together to make a virtual gun in Fallout 4 for example), and those guys for the most part don't even get paid! To education in law (a law graduate doesn't know what a paralegal does, so they have to be shown how to file a proper brief), to finance (as a CPA, I wasn't trained how to be an employee, that's for sure and I definitely didn't start as an CFO or even an executive board pee boy), to even Personal Training/Pro training, (holding a national certification) I never got the protocols some pro fighters use to make weight, once seeing a guy use an Epsom salt bath to pull the last couple of lbs within the 24 hr period (wtf) prior to weight in to make weight, and it freakin worked.

Has knowledge always been shielded from being shared in the West (I know other cultures are taught knowledge is more valuable than gold, because knowledge "makes" more gold) like I've experienced, or this is just the way it's always been?

Modern social media being really only for the most self involved selfie taking ppl, porn and ppl commiserating for the most part? That's my read about it. I mean, I've been shopping my story to the alternative media as a step to create safety, ppl don't disappear as easily if ur commonly known, (criminal activity of Family Court in NYC, but that, true, isn't uncommon), and even the total number of alternative websites is but a handful with any modest traffic.

Is all discussion/forums in general slowly turning off, just like the US' economy?

I agree, but even by simile, white belts are taught something like the real katas until they persist and get taught the actual intention of the movements, but by that time at least some like me already noticed the intention of the movements.

I'm asking for the freakin "brown belt" katas man, that's all. Not even how to do them, I'll play around and go, whoa, ok, then work and work and work...Idc about the black belt katas that supposibly gives you an orgasm, or anything exotic. I've found there's a critical level of info I need and I can get almost all the rest...and the 20/80 principal is NOT working here, idc about appearing or managing my way thru, I like you want to be in flow and just go.

But ok, solved: The real ppl that know are smart enough to have read old chinese proverbs and realize knowledge is powa and regenerating fortune.
