Hi, I am desperately trying to recreate the formant modulation from Jerskin Hendrix's SWAMP. Even tried to contact him for info but of course he never got back

hmm...it sounds like the pitch and mod wheel are modulating the cutoff frequency and an envelope is opening the formant up with a slower attack, then closing it a bit with the sustain (you can also play with pressing the keys while playing with the wheels like a video game controller vibe for different modulations)

alright heres an example, just me playing the A key and messing with the wheels to modulate it

then theres some sort of automation from a separate loop fx at one point, like at the beginning of the second phrase, then it goes back to the wheel mods

heres an example of similar settings on Serum 2, should be able to do similar on most semi-modular synths and make it your own but: thats the idea of the modulation happening. the phaser also helps with some of the pitch wheel sounds. theres a lot you can do, just have the play with it the wheels
